After I upload the games and then go into the game lists, some of the games have this symbol.

What does this mean?

Those games are "secured" (called "v32/v33 games") and encrypt their scores to avoid cheating.
If you do a mouseover on the icon in the gamelist, you'll see ;)

Ah, I knew you were gonna say that so I checked it before I posted my question and no, it doesn't. :D

So is there any way to change that or do I just delete the games?

...offering games to people then encrypting them so you can't save the scores...what's the point of that??

no, those games are secure, means their score-transmission from the game to the arcade-script is encrypted.

The point is that results are transferred via HTTP just as normal text/parameters, so some cheaters used this to adapt their scores and sent faked (better) results to the arcade-script to get highscores, win tournaments ect.

This is now impossible as the games encrypt the scores mathematically, transfer them and the arcade-script decrypts it and can verify if the result is valid or not.

So the player himself won't notice any difference, but the forum's administrator can be sure that results in those games are really played and not injected by any user :)

That's freaking pointless...

why? it prevents cheats!

I also don't understand what should be pointless regarding to this.

I don't want to tell the public how to cheat in detail (with unsecured games), so the description above should be enough.

What the he.. You prefer cheating?

I't not so hard to cheat on old v2 games.. :(

The games don't record the scores or even work...THAT'S what's pointless...

They record scores & work if you've installed them right and you have the latest version.

1) Do you have 2.6.2+ ?
2) Have you put the gamedata folder in right place? Sometimes when you install tar/zip games from ACP it actually places the gamedata folder to wrong place (arcade/tar/gamedata), even though they should be placed to arcade/gamedata

1) Do you have 2.6.2+ ? Is that the newest version that everyone seems to be having issues with?? Nope...I'm gonna hold off on that right this second. I'll wait for the bugs to work out.

2) Have you put the gamedata folder in right place? I've been told in this forum to upload to .tar for tar games and .zip for zip games. So they should be uploaded in a different way??

Oy! You know, sometimes there's too much confusion as to how upload/download/lowjack things with vbulletin...everybody has a different answer to the same question and they're either all right or they're all wrong...you know?

Yeah I know... Anyway I can't even install games directly from tar archives, something wrong with php configs and host won't change. :p

I have to install all my games manually now and that's why I don't have errors. 6 months ago tar install still worked for me but it always placed gamedata to wrong place. :(

And yes, 2.6.2+ is the newest version (released yesterday). It may have few bugs but it also fixes the score submit problem with Iinternet Explorer 7 and v32/v33 games. ;)

only v2.6.2+ is working fine with those secured v322/v33 games so if you don't update, the problems will stay ...
