Thank you Dream for this amazing add on. I've a couple of questions if you don't mind:

1- How do I edit/delete a station (name/url/website) after adding it? Do I have to modify the .XML file and re-upload it each time I want to do this? Please note that I'll recieve the "Station already exist" message.
I had to go to PHPMyAdmin to delete the station << -bored-

2- How can I insert *NEW* category? Delete *Existing* category?

BTW, in the ACP, all what I get is this:
for importing:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=68184&stc=1&d=1186491026

for options:

You have the option to edit the station and edit categories on the radio stations window. Check if your user group is part of the admin user groups in the radio station options, then you'll be able to do this.

The option for radio stations admins is on vBulletin Options >> Radio Stations Options in the admin cp.

I tried to add another user group for the (administrators) field and it worked, but the main administrator user group (6) didn't work.

You add the radio in the radio stations window, you can use any streaming URL Windows Media Player can play.

some bugs:

- there is a bug with username links in the report feature

http://i17.tinypic.com/4msh1kh.jpg

- if someone report a station as a duplicate, in 'report type' it says 'station doesn't work' instead of 'duplicate'

- after deleting a radio station that is in the reports, the radio row is still there

Whats your user group and what user groups did you put in the radio stations administrators user group in the options? What user groups can add/edit/delete stations and what group in the options are they in?

I'm admin as 6 and I used the default settings. I took a screenshot also. I then didn't want full users 2,5,7 to add stations if I couldn't delete them so I moved them to the half users. I then logged in as a user and was still able to add stations, even though I had taken away that ability. Other than this small bug I love this product of yours.

Updated to version 1.1, fixed all problems people were having

- changed order on setting usergroup permissions, requirements are now checked in this order: Half User > Full User > Admin > Banned User, checks for primary and secondary usergroups and userids for banned users
- fixed style issue with the station pages
- fixed duplicate station not being reported ("reporttype" gpc var wasn't being cleaned)
- fixed member number not showing on "reported by" url (was using $user[userid] instead $report[userid])
- fixed station not being editable/deletable by user who added it ($vbulletin var wasn't on global in function rs_construct_station_options() and rs_check_ownership() )

Upgrade is easy just follow the instructions in upgrade.txt. You won't need to revert any template.

The only template changed is RADIOSTATIONS_STATIONS_NAVBAR, if you like the old one with table border replace it with this:

<table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
<tr>
<td class="alt1" align="center">
<div class="fieldset" style="margin:0px">
<table border="0" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<form action="javascript:listCategory()" name="listCategoryForm">
<td class="smallfont" align="left">
$html_category_list
<input type="Submit" class="button" value="$vbphrase[rs_update]" name="send" />
</td>
</form>
<td align="center">
<strong>$html_random_station</strong>
</td>
<form action="javascript:searchStation()" name="searchForm">
<td class="smallfont" align="right">
<input type="Text" name="searchfor" class="smallfont" size="20" />
<input type="Submit" class="button" value="$vbphrase[rs_search]" name="send" />
</td>
</form>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<br />

edit: RADIOSTATIONS_PAGES was also changed, but I doubt anyone customized that.

Hi there, Dream.

I just found a bug that I don't know if has already been reported (I'm using 1.1 actually).

I had a single category and just one station and, after doing some tests, just decided to remove the station. When I clicked on the "Remove" link all I got was a horrible javascript alert window with HTML content in it (I could read the tags). After checking it, I found that it was the vB database error page.

Checked my email and found there the complete information of what had happend:

Database error in vBulletin 3.6.8:

Hi there, Dream.

I just found a bug that I don't know if has already been reported (I'm using 1.1 actually).

...

Well this mod wasn't really designed to have 0 stations so I'm not sure that's a bug. It will go away as soon as you add one station, I'm not sure it's worth adding more code to check for that.

Ok divide it on standard & advanced and I will do a large donation ;)

What do you expect of an advanced version?

iogames
08-14-2007, 09:28 PM
Standard = Simple Player with the Stats on the left as you have it...
Advanced= The rest of the Features, is not adding more, just dividing for aesthetic purposes ;)

The player in the browser, which will also show the tvshows that some had uploaded, you can tie in webcams to it as well. I find it works quite well for my needs and other websites that use embedded players, I can now see those as well.

This mod isn't calling quicktime, it's calling the windows media player plugin. You need to load the flip4mac I pointed you to earlier which will make your Mac browser compatible with it. Or you can go into the radiostations_player template and change it to your liking I suppose.

What I'm saying is everything works for the Mac and FF and this script. In making a small adjustment inside of flip4mac, it will open the external quicktime player on the Mac instead of using the player in the script. Which is what I thought I understood you were wanting to do.

Hi,

I didn't want to add this in my navbar. (too many buttons to move around)
I set up a link forum - which opened radiosations.php

The problem was that I couldn't get it to open in a new window.

So I hacked together this radiostations.html

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Dreams Radio Stations</title>

<meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="1;url=http://www.yoursite.com/forums/">
</head>

<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
window.open("http://www.yoursite.com/forums/radiostations.php", "blank");
</script>
</body>
</html>

Now point the linked forum to radiostations.html and it opens a new window for the radio station and the old window redirect to forumhome.

:)

If you make the changes in post #97, then go to your vbadvanced in the admincp under default settings and add "radiostations.php" to either the header or navbar replacements section, wherever you put your menu it will call the new page. It won't call the javascript popup page however.

great product, but, is there any way to force it to use windows media player 10? reason being, MS really blows and 50% of users out there still use an OS other than XP or Vista.

i see his class object is 6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6 which is for WP7+ so it should be. Is the player that shows dependent upon the stream?

For an easy integration because I don't like the popup version I added into the radiostations template $header $footer and $navar, only the navbar isn't showing but I can live with. Thanks for this hack Dream, it's a masterpiece of coding.
Btw. knows anybody a good site listing radio stations from all countries?

in radiostations.php find:

eval('$html_javascript = "' . fetch_template('RADIOSTATIONS_JAVASCRIPT') . '";');
eval('print_output("' . fetch_template('RADIOSTATIONS') . '");');

Replace with:
$navbits = array();
$navbits[$parent] = 'Radio';

$navbits = construct_navbits($navbits);
eval('$navbar = "' . fetch_template('navbar') . '";');
eval('$html_javascript = "' . fetch_template('RADIOSTATIONS_JAVASCRIPT') . '";');
eval('print_output("' . fetch_template('RADIOSTATIONS') . '");');

I think it will use whatever WMP the user has on the machine, not sure if you can force a version. You could try using a different class object ID, then tell me how it goes.

actually, i just figured it out. it is b/c MS sucks with FF integration. My stats are:
FF 2.0
Win2k3
WMP 10

FF tries to tell me I need a WMP 11 download. Well, can't do that b/c MS made WMP11 XP and Vista only.

So the remedy:

Download the following....

http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/N/npdsplay.dll/3.0.2.629/
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/N/npwmsdrm.dll/9.00.00.3250/
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/N/npdrmv2.dll/9.00.00.32508/

And place them in your <FF Install Path>\Plugins folder

restart FF, and boom, it works.

out of curiousity,

Will this slow down the upload of the forum or make it slower for slower uploaders?

I want to make sure it will not effect my users before I upload

Dream
08-21-2007, 07:48 PM
Tricky question...

This won't make your forum slower. The bandwidth used is the radio streaming's server bandwidth.

If your users have a slower connection, say they are on a dial-up, and they are listening to radio and browsing your forum, it may slow down their navigation, yes.

Great mod. How and where would I edit the colors of the game subtitles and list of highscores champs etc? The titles are a deep blue very hard to read.

I love this.
I think you replied to the wrong thread :P
Are there any plans of vbcredits integration...

Like cost to listen etc.. ?

Maybe an idea if anyone wants to try to get it to work that would be great!
Sorry no plans to do that.

I wanted to let you guys know that you can get a vBadvanded CMPS page by using the "integration" option provided with the product.

Works like a charm--still can't figure how to get those TV stations though--I go to the link and then...can't figure it out. More research!!

TV Stations work great for me....

Fill in tv station name... perhaps create a category of Television

Paste the link for any of the following stations on this website that have a green button next to them under the stream column: http://wwitv.com/portal.htm

Example for path to paste:

Thanks Doctor Death, I added that link to the third post of this thread. I actually found some nice streams there! :)

edit: wow some of these streams have awesome quality, stuff has evolved since I last tried this...

edit2: I'm changing the name of this mod to "Radio and TV Stations Add-on" on the next version. Should be easy enough, it's just a couple of phrases that need to be changed. I'll also add a link to open the player in a bigger window to watch TV stations.

You can delete all categories with "delete stations?" checked. Other than that you have to delete the stations one by one.

edit: you can also run a query to empty the "radiostation" table, not sure what that query would be, "truncate" something I think

I love this mod!, for the next version can you customize it to users needs, share fav with other users display user avatars in user favorites. settings for group permissions. relocation of the player and add radio station boxes. user status on what everyone is listening to, Default auto load for users favorites, user commenting etc. Integration with MGC chatbox would be a good option too.

Dream
09-08-2007, 07:53 PM
Sorry, no plans to make most of those.

You can relocate the player and add station tables easily editing the template RADIOSTATIONS.

Settings for usergroup permissions are already available in the Radio Stations options.

"customize it to users needs" not sure what you mean by that.

To share stations with other users, you can send the "permalink" link to anyone you like.

User commenting was thought of, but it would just bloat the mod with useless comments on most boards.

User status on what everyone is listening to is interesting, but would need some research as I'm not sure how it could be acomplished.

Display user avatar in user favorites is a little useless in my opinion...

What could be interesting is to see any user's list of favorites, with something like radiostations.php?do=showfavorites&userid=123

Integration with MGC shoutbox, I don't see what kind of integration could be accomplished. Either way that could be a separate mod as not everyone uses both. Also, you can link stations in the chatbox using the permalink anytime.

Default station per user was thought of, but wasn't implemented because of layout problems (wouldn't know where to put a button "make this station default" in the favorites list).

You could try the following:

Open RADIOSTATIONS template and at the very top add:

<if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 6,2,5,7)">

At the very bottom (below </html>) add:

<else />
Whatever content you want here. You can add vB's Standard error message or a login box or whatever.
</if>

In the example the following Usergroups with permission include: Admin, Super Mods, Mods and registered users. Any other Usergroups that were not specified in the conditional will see the custom content. Hope this helps.

Anyway, excellent mod, Dream. :up:

is there ability to use flash player instead of media player , there is some flash player on the net

Firefox needed Windows Media plug in for me. I installed in manually. IE worked fine.

I'm curious as to why the visualization isn't appearing in other browsers. Namely the widely popular FF.

I have looked here:

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213

At first assuming that my own browser needs the plug in for WMP. Which is debateable but unlikely since there test links worked for me.

Then looked at there plug ins page:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7

Which doesn't list one, but instead the program. Which at this point I'm thinking its the coding or scripting of the actual Mod.

---------------------------------------

In short I'd like to offer my members the same things that other members have, and it doesn't really make sense as to why the visualization of the player works on IE 7 but not on FF.

Is there a bug in the Mod, or is this an issue of browser plug in or browser settings?

I have Winamp, Windows MP 11, and Real Player on my system.

This mod works in FF 2 for me.

Working and showing visualisation are two different things. It seems the only browser its designed for is IE.

I checked again after an uninstall and reinstall of FF 2.0.0.6 and it didn't show visualization.

Also the coder of my site lives in a dif time zone and he uses the same FF version and it didn't show visuals for him either.

-----------------------------

What's odd is that when you open it, it will open the visual box, but the moment it loads the song or radio, it auto-closes it and shrinks it to a mini-bar with no visualization.

If it works for you, what is the plug in or script change to make it show visual in FF?

Dream

Visualization option is set to "true" on the mod (you can check out RADIOSTATIONS_PLAYER template). I played some with this and couldn't make it work with FF, and decided this was a problem with the WMP plugin itself.

Solved!

Ok for those of you who use Firefox 2.0.0.6 or anything under that, and have been unable to see the visualizations off of this mod, I am here to tell you how. Whether you do it or not, I don't care.

Dream is incorrect that it has to do with the WMP plug in, but it could be that on other browsers, or perhaps FF dependant upon any existing add-ons or plug ins you have. Not discrediting Dream just stating fact here, and on both of my pc's it was the same issue, not the WMP plug in but actually Active X.

First of all I highly recommend reading this thread and choosing your method of troubleshooting this:

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213

I started off with the approach of "WMP Plug in", did not work, did not help anything.

Firefox Plug In for Media Wrap was in about my 2nd or 3rd hour of search and that improved it, but still did not show the visual. It improved it I guess in a sense that it added another advertisement line in the WMP display on this Radio Add On.

I told my coder and he said did you look at the Active X option. I was like, "no". Went to a test page and that was exactly it. It wasn't showing embedded WMP audio or video. What's odd is that the thing would always play the audio and in some cases it still should as the browser can pick up that information easy. But it wasn't picking up video.

Another damn hour later and I finally found the plug in. However it claims not to use it on other browsers, as it might only work on 1.5, the latest version I found which is a test version. However it also states in that long post on Mozilla Line that this plug in ONLY unlocks Active X to play audio/video for WMP. It will let nothing else in.

So I gave it a shot thinking, it probably won't work but what the heck I want to see visuals and use FF! So I dl'd it, and it completely works perfectly. No security issues so far at all either.

Here is the link to the webpage that has the plug in on it, but there are so many links you might not find it easily:

http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/plugin.htm

If you can't find it, see attached image or follow attached link for image whichever this post allows, because I cannot direct link it as it's a javascripty

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/scorpion_666/busy1.gif

DL that, then close firefox and re-open it. It will work after that.

Thus concludes our tutorial.

Proof shown in image below:

While I won't correct you, I'd guess you're referring to your own code. If that is the case, I have no idea. If you're referring to the mozilla plug in, I still have no idea as I've had no time to examine it closely. You would know more than me. But it is not the WMP plug in, I did all of those options first in that Mozilla line thread, and it would not work in FF.

I did as you stated, and I need to do that for the 3 other mods our website has dl'd.

Thanks Dream for a great hack, and I'm glad it can work for as many browsers as possible.

Another question while were on the subject.

Where is the ID number of the Radio Stations?

You ask in the Admin CP of the Add-On to state a station ID number to auto-start, if you leave blank it will be random. Where do we get the ID numbers?

Dream
09-11-2007, 06:14 AM
If you mouse over a station name link, in the status bar you'll see the station ID. Something like openStation(XX).

legionofangels
09-12-2007, 01:00 AM
I think the next modification down the road should allow users to select there own favorite station to auto start up upon loading the Radio Stations Add On.

-------------------------

Secondly taking me back to a noob here, I cannot seem to figure out how to add certain Internet Radio Stations that don't obviously show the .xml file or what not, for example take a look at this website:

http://www.pandora.com/backstage

Now they have internet radio stations but i cannot seem to find the proper files to add the channels. I think a tut for "where to look for stations" would be great. I could even make it in a post here with PS, but I need to know myself, lol.

Dream
09-12-2007, 04:05 AM
You need to check the HTML code of the page you want to get the streaming URL from. You need some understanding of coding to do this. It's usually inside <object> and/or <embed> tags.

There are "where to look for stations" links in the third post of this thread.

Setting favorites as default stations was planned, but wasn't implemented because I couldn't decide where to place buttons for it.

Is this the best way i can intergrate the Radio stations link in to CMPS?

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="/forum/radiostations.php" target="blank">LCN Radio</a></td>

Change the javascript that you add in the navbar to:

<!--
function openRadioStations(){
radioStationsWindow = window.open('$vboptions[bburl]/radiostations.php', 'radiostations', 'directories=no,height=500,width=700,location=no,m enubar=no,resizable=yes,status=no,scrollbars=yes,t oolbar=no');
}
//-->
</script>and leave the link as:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="javascript:openRadioStations()">$vbphrase[rs_radiostations]</a></td>

that is how the hack should be written anyway, IMO - more compliant vb coding that way

The JW FLV Player (built with Adobe's Flash) can be used standalone, without the need for the Flash authoring tool. The player allows you to show your videos more controlled and to a broader audience than with Quicktime, Windows Media or Real Media. It supports playback of a single Flash video file, RTMP streams or RSS, XSPF and ATOM playlists (with advertisement possibilities), a wide range of flashvars (settings) for tweaking both behavior and appearance and an extensive, documented javascript/actionscript API. The example above shows a feed with clips recently added to Blip.tv.

You need HTML knowledge to get the stream URLs from webpages.

I'm not sure of all the extensions WMP and RP accept, as there are many. You could google for it.

- user name markups now consider displaygroupid
- station list breadcrumbs now shows "Category: All" instead "All Categories"
- mod name changed to "Radio and TV Add-on" (changed a bunch of phrases, changed radiostations.php to radioandtv.php, edited plugins, changed navbar code, edited javascript code, won't change phrases names though nor product ID nor table names, it's a little frankenstein but it's ok)
- made hardcoded option "Stations Per Page" into option in acp
