I'd like to convert our site at http://www.baja.net to VBulletin and VBGallery yet, I can't even make the first step to ask consultants about fees for the conversion process because my access on this site is restricted to disallow posting and viewing of the "Request For Paid Service" forum.

What is the solution to this?

<a href="http://vbulletin.com" target="_blank">http://vbulletin.com</a> is the place to ask.. you are actually on the site for modifications... not installation !!!

Jeeze, the VBulletin.com sales team told me to post here.

And in this thread on VBulletin.com it says that I can't ask there either.

if they did told you to look here, i suppose they know why.

first, you need to be owner of a vBulletin license to ask for conversion... and there is no consultant here, when you post in the Paid Service, coders there will answer your request if they want, they are freelancers, not devoted to the job.

So, you are telling me I have to buy the product before I can get an answer that it will work for us?

On Vbulletin.com?

It says no solicting for paid services there.

I think if I could simply post my request to the right forum here, I'd be on my way to where I want to be.

So far, the entire process seems very broken.

You can still post in the Pre-Sales forums both here and on vb.com. Be aware however that you can ask (and get answers) to general questions, but will not be told any detailed instructions in the pre-sales sections.

if i understand properly, you want to know if it is possible to import the data from some other script Into vBulletin... this is called a ImpEx..
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=92 is the forum where import/export are discussed...

but if you go directly to the "i want to pay someone for it" it becomes a Paid Job...
