Thanks Dismounted! However It didn't work after removing the code you stated, I even logged in as a normal user and could reply to my own thread via Post Reply and Quick Reply.

Hmm, maybe a difference in 3.5. I don't have a 3.5 board, so can't test it out. Sorry.

Just set a really high number. The chance of them replying to a very very old thread is not very high anyway.
Any chance of having an exclude group? I would like to make my moderators and admins excluded. Looks good, uninstalled until this is added though.

Hack Updated!
21/07/2007 - Version 1.1
- Added Option To Exclude Usergroups
Thanks. :)
The On/off switch is a little confusing. You should rename it from yes/no. :)
I just tested the mod and it does not work. People are still able to double post.

See, you should have simply made it for 3.5.4 :)

I was looking for this. Thank you. I really needed this hack. Installed
Did it work for you before?
Yes it did, and the previous version still works for me now. When I upgrade to the latest version that adds excluded usergroups, it no longer works.

Right here :p. Use 1.0 for the moment, I'm running short on time at the moment.
I just have it uninstalled. I usually end up double posting quite a bit for official and no official purposes and I do not want to disable/enable the plugin every time I want to do so.

Is there a way to add a list of forum ids to the options, so that it only prevents thread bumping in those forums ?

I'm in agreement with focus2, as I would want to use this mod in a "for sale" forum. I'd also want a n option that regardless of original poster or another poster - it will not be bumped up by a post until at least x number of time. So lets say i set it so forum 3 any posts posted in it can only be bumped up say once every 12 hours. But users can still have conversation.

Dimounted, I have gone ahead and added a list of comma seperated forums option to your hack. I hope you use the changes I made...

Dismounted...
Thanks for this mod...
I haven't tested it yet, but hopefully it'll work. I have this one person on my forum that loves to bump their own thread...this person does it every day. It's starting to get on my nerves, so this mod will be a welcomed one.
I'm currently running 3.6.8 PL2...I'll let ya know if I have any issues with it.
Again...thanks so much!
Update...
This mod works great for the original author of the thread, but does not work on those who reply to the thread. Those who reply to the original thread can still post back to back.

What version of vBulletin are you using?
This mod works great for the original author of the thread, but does not work on those who reply to the thread. Those who reply to the original thread can still post back to back.
The original purpose of the modification was to prevent the thread starter from bumping only. Although I'll probably add an option to extend this.

hi if you can please add/change some features in your mod
I need mod which will work like that:
i set number of days until the thread will expire
if there wont be any new replies to the thread within the number of days i set then the thread is expired.
if someone will try to reply to this thread then he will receive an error message saying: "the thread is expired and you are not authorized to post here"
and it doesn't matter if its the thread starter or anyone else, only if i exclude the usergroups then they will be able to reply.
i hope you understood my purpose since my english isnt very good.

The description that you provided is not the aim of this modification, and strays from its purpose. It would be an entirely different modification you need.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I am 3.7.x and it works if only the user post then tries to bump his own topic but if someone else replies to the thread then the original poster is free to bump as many times as they want with no time limit. I will try the old version and see if it works differently.

Dear Dismounted,
Do you have any plans on updating this hack relating this option?
Thank you so very much for your time!

I am also interested in an update of this. To stop bumping by same user, or by a time limit, with the exclusions.

As soon as it's possible to exclude forums from this mod, I will install it.
