I have folks visiting my forum and some of them are older and some don't even have email addresses (or frequently check them). I am getting a lot of (E-mail waiting to be activated) members and I believe I'm loosing a lot of members.

Now, I have this option in place because of the mass amount of spammers I was getting. I also have the image verification in place and other such anti-spam measures.

Do you all know of any hack or mod that would not require a member who puts in a certain zip code to have to activate via e-mail? I know this is a stretch, but this is becoming an issue.

Thanks

Just move them to the reg'd group, your going to get it when requiring email verification, typically its caused by the ISP in question that the user is reg'ing with.

As from a vhost server you wont have mail log access, it would be hard to find out why the emails most likely failed to be delivered or they're ISP in question placed them in that users spam box, as a lot of users dont chk their spam box, it becomes a issue as the forums cron sends those reminder emails out daily.

If it's mainly free email services that are failing, make a reg page change and notify reg'ing members that hotmail and the like are not permitted to join your forum.

Yes, this is what I've been doing. I just think that if someone tries to log in and can't seem to figure it out, they go back to surfing...

Thanks for the reply. :)
