Sending mass emails

What is the best way to format a mass email to my members? I have tried HTML and bbcode and neither one seem to look correct when sent. How do you all do it to make announcements and such?

there might be something in the mini mod area or mod add ons i havent yet got mine up yet but im sure there is something. Hope you find it
