Description

This mod lets you add a pretty simple project management system. It allows you to add to your forum a tool to plan project and follow them (kinda like a small MS Project).

Projects are assigned to users which manages its progression.


Functionnalities

Here is a small description of the functionnalities

1.0 : Creation

Configured completly through the vbulletin options:
Usergroup ids that can edit/remove any project
Number of projects shown by page in the projects list
Number of characters shown in the description of a project on the search result page
Usergroup permissions to use vBProjects:

Authorization to create project (Project manager)
Authorization to participate to a project
Authorization to be part of a project
Project can be created by a project manager with the following informations

Title
Status (Pending, in progress,...)
Priority (Low, medium, ...)
Members of the project
Description
Once a project has been created, it can be modified or removed by the project manager or one of the user in the usergroup that can edit/remove any project

The project's progression can also be updated by the project manager or the users that have the rights to edit/remove any project. Members of the project have also the rights to update the project's progression
Search by keywords in the projectsThe full version contains more functionnalities :

Split of a project in different tasks (projects progressions are automatically linked to their tasks progressions)
Possibility to add comments in the tasks
Detailled stats
In the user profile: display of the currently active projects created by the user and also the one he is member ofHowever, you must remove the light version before installing the full one.

Install


Refer to the README file in the zip file.

Once install is finished, don't forget to go in the usergroup management in order to set the permissions of the usergroups for the vBProjects mod.

Becareful: By default, there are no groups which can access to the projects if you don't do that.

When I go into the usergroup there are selections but nothing that says what the selections are.

Also I noticed that the php files are spelt mgc_vbprojets_projets.php and not as projects; with a c if that means anything.

The selections without names might come from a previous xml bitfield of a file you didn't removed and as I rebuild bitfields upon install they now appears.

You should remove the one causing problems and rebuild bitfields manually.

To identify them, you can validete usergroup permissions to see which errors vbulletin fires you.

when a project is created or updated, can it create a thread on the forum so that other people can see the progress... without that.. the project hack will not get as much attention except by those involved in the project..

This is because you had a xml bitfield file of the fcpermissions mod in your includes/xml directory and this mod might not be present anymore am I right ?

If this is the case, you have to remov the bitfield xml file of the fcpermissions mod and then to rebuild bitfield manually (temporarly debug mode activation and then Rebuild bitfields menu item in the vbulletin options menu)

Wow really strange ! Do you have any problem with the wyswyg editor in other vbulletin pages ? It may come from the custom bbcode buttons but not sure.

I suppose it could be a style issue more than a bug in the hack, could you try it on the default vbulletin style ?

My product is more likely a project planification and management tool. But doesn't manage bug tracking as their tool does.

The .DS files are because I developped it on a MAC and it leaves those stupid files in the folders as hidden files, you can remove them.

You have nothing called fcpermissions in any of the xml bitfield files ? Regarding this kind of error there should be one that's strange.

Yes I have the permissions correct. I have installed many vbulletin addons and it just wont work. I have dumped this product and will look for something else.

Could you give me information about :
- Your php version
- Your MySQL version
- Where exactly in the product does the "Page can't be displayed" appears ?

This might be a little problem of php but as you might have the display error not present in the php.ini it just displays a can't be displayed insted of showing the error.

No you can't do that, it was not designed as a bug and suggestion manager as vb project tools is but more has a project planner and follower.

This could be done through comments in each tasks but I don't think this is what your searching for ? :p

I am thinking of a possible porting or modifying my hack to the vbproject tool to enhance it a bit.

I have a similar problem to that of EvilAkuma about the link for the project not showing in the Quick Links.

It shows when on the forum/ pages, but not on vba's home page.

That it is, shows fine when we are in www.onlinedebate.net/forums/ (http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/) but not www.onlinedebate.net (http://www.onlinedebate.net)

How can I fix that/

I thins this deals with vba and and I'm not very used to it so I can't be of any help sorry :(

I think it's a problem with one of the file I had while saving it but I was unable to find which and where was the silly character :( sorry.

Your uninstall code screwed me up; whenever trying to edit Usergroup permissions, I get this:
MySQL Error : Unknown column 'mgcvbprojetsugpcustomperms' in 'field list'

My forum is still looking for that field in the db.

For now, I just disabled it so my forum works.

Your mod is nice, but I bought the vBProjects official mod from vb.

it works perfectly with IE but in firefox I am getting a little thing "" above the page in the top left corner. This only happens when accessing a projects details.... Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix?

I don't think that the problem comes from the uninstall code.

I would rather say that you haven't followed carefully the uninstall instructions :)

I think that you have uninstall the product before removing the xml files of the chatbox in the includes/xml directory while you should have done the contrary.

To correct that you have to remove the chatbox xml files if not done, and then rebuild the bitfields manually (debug mode activation and then in the vbulletin menu options menu a new link to rebuild bitfields appear).

Same here. If i click on Add (member) without a member name:

You must enter an username!

If i put an invalid username:

This user doesn't exist!

And if i put a valid username (user is in a valid group):

ok 349 - but nothing happens (349 is the user id)

Uninstalled until this is fixed.

Some Bugs: This Mod Causes Errors on the Characters of my Test Forum, and also Changes the Behaviour of the Interphase!! :( :confused:

When Creating a Project, all the BB Codes and Smilies were Disabled, (unclikable); when I disabled the Mod, everything went back to Normal!! :confused: :(

I checked the Features and are Too Basic, I hoped for more Features!! :(

I am getting a blank page when trying to add a project :

does nothing

Fixed by uploading the new file in an earlier post

**Updated this part is fixed*** but found something else that isn't working

when you try to update the progress of a project you put your percent number in a push save it goes to a blank page with the url of:
mgc_vbprojets_projets.php%22

fixed by adding " to the line.

change to

a href ="mgc_vbprojets_projets.php">

On projects page where it says updated on I am getting a wierd A e.g.

I am not getting the accii code everyone else is getting and my smiles and such work fine. I am running on 3.6.9. For those finding those wierd charaters I would look over the phases as there is was a couple others that I have to change to a , from agrave and some others like this.

Also can you allow certain users to view certain projects and block the rest ? I know this is the light version is this feature in teh full version ?
