Hmmm... testing it in my test forum, when your in the forum home and someone makes a post. It does not update automatically. You need to click the RENEW link. :( It would great if it can automatically update when someone makes a post or thread.

This mod can be a very useful mod for those that have a chatbox on their forum home.

It uses user permissions, but it does not allow forums to be excluded. I.e. If you don't want private forums to be shown on the Latest posts.

Cyb, has been working hard and been updating his mod with a lot of great features. The only thing that lacks his mod from this one is AJAX. If one created a hack with AJAX and latest posts + features from Cyb, it will surely win MOTY!!!!!

It's very good but we need more options to remove top posters, etc.

It's too wide for my forum now and that column needs to be removed.

I'll have to remove it until you add that. When the forum is set to be 780 pixels wide, it's just too wide.

Great hack, Atakan! Thanks for adding the extras -- especially placement. If you have time, it would great to be able to turn off the top posters and new users columns. I already have hacks for those and I think it looks cleaner on my site without those columns.

Another thought would be regarding the Popular Threads.

The "Posted By" could be removed to shorten the width (which as I indicated, is a problem on my forum). The last person that posted in that section (Popular Threads) is not really relevant.

I'm not insulting your modification, it is great and I want to use it. I just can't get it narrow enough.

The Latest Posts section is perfect now. The only thing is the popular threads. I like having this available, but under your format, this is still way too wide as the amount of information is too much....

If you can do an over/under option for that information, you will have achieved perfection in my opinion.

Also, you might want to consider making "Popular Thread", "Popular Threads".

The thread icons (in latest posts) do not work, they are post_old.gif all the time, they don't change depending on whether the user has read the post or not. :(

Edit the switch on the end of the "Alp Load" plugin (on hook global_start) and change the comment in the str_replace on case 2,3 or 4. Then edit your forumhome template and add that comment where you want it to appear. Then go to the hack's options and select the placement to be the one that you edited (eg if you edited the 2nd case then select the second placement.

Alp Load is a plugin, you will find it in plugin manager.
However if you're not familiar with php and/or html, wait till you get a more detailed reply from the author (I don't have the time to elaborate).

With the Top Posters bit, it currently shows all usergroups, including any banned members that had high post counts, which I really would prefer not to be shown as it advertises the fact that there has been bad behaviour at some point. I'd also like the option to be able to hide admins and moderators, because most of my team tend to post quite a lot and I don't want to shut my members out of that bit.

Therefore, would it be at all possible to make it so that it is optional which usergroups are shown in the Top Posters bit please.

Besides that, great hack, much better than what I had previously been using.

Nicer formatting (like Cyb, with use of black and grey text)

thank you very much for a great hack, however, would like to point a small issue that made me take it off my board. i have Thank You hack+sid's hide hack running, and unfortunately with this hack everything that is supposed to be hidden is shown, so it kinda defeats the purpose of those two hacks that are a must for me.

If someone need to change the font color of the title of the table u will need to modifiy 2 templates of alp.

Just a suggestion but larger fields for Forum Name & Thread Title would be nice. I am only displaying a minimal subset of the fields & have plenty of room for the full thread title & forum name.

Hmmmm - I didn't realize there were any problems.... I just did a regular install and edited the templates to better match my Forum's skin... I did edit the style code slightly to make it so when you roll over the ▼ it shows the help cursor...

As far as latest posts button to show - find the option in the AdminCP vBulletin Options ---> vBulletin Options ---> [AJAX] Alp Pro - Top X ---> Show Popular Thread --- Make sure Yes is selected :)

Btw I noticed another bug with this: If in a forum a user can only view own threads and not others' threads, the permission doesn't get applied to the new posts: He can view others' threads from that forum as well.

how server intensive is this? i had to remove cyb advanced forum stats cause it lagged my forum home. should this make any similar problem ? i also noticed that replacement variables for statusicon/post_old.gif dont work when updates the stats via ajax but show only when doing page refresh. also when there are new post the new post icon doesnt change

it hads about 3 queries depends on what you add...it's not visible for guest so it depends on how many online registered member you have....

When you have had a look at a post using Ajax, the box refreshes to "popular threads mode" even if it was in "Latest posts" mode.

I have this same problem!

Has anyone managed to figure this out as its quite an annoying bug as it pushes the page out showing information about popular threads even tho its set in acp to not show any of this at all.
