I wonder if anyone having issue with bluehost.com. I recently switched to bluehost.com few months ago and keep getting CPU exceed issue. They say you need to contact your VB Software developer inorder to correct your code. I don't see anything wrong with the code otherwise it won't work on the site.
I also noticed if I need to login to there control panel >> click on MYSQL Database>> than you can choose which sql file you want to backup.. Than, I select one of my SQL file and click SAVE AS.. I noticed right away my site won't load up the page at all. After the download page completed about 3 minutes, my site will display. I talked with there tier3 support and it doesn't make any sense say it is my code issue. Just backing up the database than my site slow down??????? The only thing that they are not aware off it doesn't give any CPU error. They also mention it could be my root problem how my folders organized. I explained to them that how the VB files and folders suppose to have like that. I don't know what els to explain to them right now.....
Previously when I signed up there plan I was on the $6.95 /Months. There server is fast than I just keep getting that CPU error all the time. Than or later I talked with there support and suggest to upgrade to $19.99 /Months so they can increase my CPU seconds. So I decided to upgraded the plan as long it will fix this problems. Later for 2 days, I got the same issue again. I don't see any different but it just my site go down between 5 -10 minutes. This is very inconvienience for the support and service they had provided. Anyone here ever face the same problem I had? Angkor

bluehost is a typical example of "overselling" moving to them whas a bad idea as you need to move again to get rid of the problem. There is nothing wrong with the code and i doubt they even know what they are talking about avoid bluehost and there "aliases" companys as the pest

Usually hosts like that have several {5,6} websites going to the same hosting, leading to one server, usually just one person with a resellers account. I've seen my fair share and more of those kinds of hosts, and run away from them as fast as you can. Just by looking at the style of their homepage screams it, easy, cheap, and unprofessional. Maybe 2 hours of work. If you want to call it that. In other words, the host is crap.
And just for the record, on your forum, change the forumdisplay from the default vbulletin style.

Well, I found another of bluehost's aliases. It is hostmonster. Same features and the same help center.

I have seen more CPU Exceeded errors on bluehost than on any other webhost. It just shows you how well some webhosts are experienced with forum hosting.

CPU metering is kind a not of this day and age.
We rent from thePlanet ( started as rackshack, been EV1, but now they are part of the planet)
With them for 10 years now, never an issue, supurb helpdesk.

HAHAHA ANOTHER BLUEHOST ISSUE..
OK Well I was running my website on them 500 members over 5,000 threads. I got CPU Exceeded Errors almost 10x a day -- with only 20+ people online! I moved straight from them to HostICan and have had NO issues whatsoever. I then upgraded to a VPS with HostICan -- again no issues like those at bluehost. Trash your bluehost account and find somewhere else, I suggest HostIcan.com

you can view your cpu error logs... i was w/ bluehost and had the same issues.
file manager > in the same level as public_html open tmp > cpu exceed logs
i bet they all point to vbshout.php and photopost (i think it was showgallery.php) adding muliable games (bulk install) in arcade would crash it too.
bluehost dont like shoutboxes... i know if i uploaded more than 2-3 pics at a time in the gallery it would crash my site.
i think bluehost is ok if your running a smaller plain site. start adding the bells and whisles and the cpu exceed errors never stop. but for 8 bucks a month i guess its expected.
i went to a vps and been very happy. fast and it will run my shoutbox and i can bulk upload.

I never seen a host like that that give CPU error. I seen the error log which was coming from Photopost gallery. I don't see is coming from my vbshout. If i need to do some mantainance like scan photo or rebuilt images, than the cpu error will start. I run this atlease twice a months. Like one of the members mention in here try HostIcan.com it probably more reliable. I looked at there website for a dedicated $44 /months not bad at all. I am paying $19.99 /months with bluehost. I don't know how bluehost got over 400,000 customer. Now, if you are asking about CPU error in there chat room, they automatic refer to help site. I assumed lots of peoples are reporting the CPU error and lives chat is unavailable.
Maybe end of this year I might look into dedicated server hosting. The only issue is timing concern and downtime. Angkor

i think they are getting worse. i was w/ bh for a year before my problems started and was very happy. then out of no where my site was down w/ that error 3-4 times a hour. so i think they either moved me... overloaded the server i was on or tighned up there policies. or maybee they just trying to get more people on that high cpu plan.
i think there sucess is their support.

I to use BH, When I first started using BH, everything went great. Their support is great & never had problems with their support. Last month, I started getting DB errors from hell...From out of nowhere. Then came daily to hourly cpu exceed limit. I have 2 septate hosting packages with BH, 1 with 15 sites on it & the other with 9 on it....Both must be on same server, because when I get th cpu errors, they occur on both sites at the same time.
I have been very comfortable with BH, but my comfort level is diminishing quickly.
i use bluehost at the moment, just starting year 2. the first year i never had one problem so i just renewed for another year.
the last few days i am getting the cpu overusage a couple times in a short period of time and i am the only one on the forum.
i killed almost all the add-ons but i got the error right after that.
i would love some recommendations for good hosting. i have a small forum, 30-40 users a day and about 50 guests,
Chris!

I had some similar issues with a host earlier this year. I did quite a bit of research to find a new host. I decided to go with a VPS, and pared down my list of possible companies to liquidweb and knownhost.
liquidweb run "managed" vps setups, and knownhost run "semi-managed". I didn't have a lot of server experience so I almost went with liquidweb. But after PMing with one of the reps from knownhost on webhostingtalk, I decided to give them a try with one of my small sites.
The result is that they've been great. I've been with them for close to ten months now and their service is excellent. I've had no downtime that I'm aware of. Their response time to support tickets is so fast, it's amazing. And they've been patient with my newbie questions, walking me through things and at the same time offering to "do it" for me as well.
Recently, I moved my main site over to knownhost to the same VPS account as my smaller site and all is good.
If you're looking for a possible VPS host, they might be worth a look.
If you go with them, let me know how it works out for you. :)
