When you release a mod and people don't click install..
I mean its not a big deal, it's not like I release a mod for self gratification, but also. Since a lot of us spend our own time doing this. It is always wonderful to see ppl click install, you know? Seeing people use your work? It's not an ego thing, its a why write this if people don't use it.
Sure you can count downloads, and I understand people typically only come back when they have problems, so you could count those but *shrug*. Hopefully someone understands what im saying and does not take this to an ego trip.
edit...
I havent released any massive mods, mostly niche stuff, but still lol

Yeah, I definately understand where you are coming from. It's always nice to see someone click "Install" whether they are using the modification or not.

Well something I noticed a lot of us do, sometimes to help increase the amount of install clicks, is for example, me and whitemike were just talking and neither one of us answer any support questions on our mods unless the user has clicked install

do you think that is cool? I mean generally support questions come when the user cannot install it, though they can come from unexpected errors i suppose. But that is a good idea for sure

If they are having trouble with installing it, then yeah, I'll more than likely answer their questions. But other than that, it is a pretty good idea, which is why I started doing it.

Normally in the release i tell them to click install for support, so that helps a little
