Heyas. Are there any mods out there for hosting streaming videos on our website? I'm interested in having a YouTube/Google video type thing, so I can embed our videos onto a vB page/section of our site.

Thanks, but I don't want to put YouTube or Google's videos inline in my threads, but I want an actual video section, where we host the videos ourselves and they stream them off our site.

Nice huh... no mods though. You will probably need to integrate with a actual video side script like I did.

NOTE: Mine is still in beta. Works 100%, but still integrating with the forum.

That is exactly what I'm looking for for my website. Is there any chance you will be releasing/selling the code for this?

Flixware is what you are looking for. Note: Flixware is NOT a product of mine, I purchased it, then skined it to integrate with my forum. You can find it here:

It's template system is pretty simple, so you should be able to use the header / footer from your vbulletin theme, and "wrap" this script to blend in with your site. You will want to make sure you have a great host, because the requirements are:

MySQL (version 4 or higher)

PHP (version 4.2.3 or higher)

Mencoder (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html)

flv2tool (http://inlet-media.de/flvtool2)

Which I've found that alot of host won't install / support. I'm on a VPS, so I was able to install these to my server without a hosts' assistance.

I was aware of that mod, however it's pulling video from other sites. The setup I have allows people to upload videos (and they are hosted on my forum). Those mods only import / embed media from the other sites... Which I guess is fine if you want to go to a site like youtube, upload the video, then go back to your forum to add it.

Your description doesn't say that it does that. Besides, it just allows you to post it in threads. I am looking for a full featured video section allowing uploads, comments, rating, etc.

omg. EXACTLY what I'm looking for as well...but man o man... sounds way too much much for me to hack together.

yes, but it just converts attachments (ie: its still just in a post a thread).
it doesn't offer a way to present them in directory fashion as with above (or like youtube)...that is, as a "videos" page.


I supposed it'd be possible to have something LIKE one with some tweek of GARS. but that's more than I'm willing to delve into, especially now that the vbgeek is outta action for a while. :(

I?m looking for this! I will for my users the same. Videoupload on my server and then play in my board. One Highlight was display the directlink to copy for ather websites...
