Last Referrer in Forumhome? (Digg like)

I would like to display the last User who has referred a new registered member in the forumhome... You can see what i mean in www.digg.com

I think this could improve the referrers system... I saw a lot of mods for "top referrers", but that is pretty "static", I think that showing the LAST user who referred a new member would be much more dynamic ...

Any idea on how to do that or if it's possible?

With this, can they click "Invite Friends" and it brings them to a page where they can input some emails ???
