View Full Version : Forum Display Enhancements - GTHighlight Unread Announcements
Princeton
06-14-2007, 10:00 PM
A modification which highlights unread announcements within the forumdisplay.php page.
This modification requires manual edits.
Show your support and click Mark As Installed, Nominate For MOTM, or Support Developer.
The current highlight color is "gold". If you prefer another color just make the changes by replacing every instance of "gold" with your preferred color.
If you do not have a modified threadbit_announcement template you can just copy the contents of threadbit_announcement.txt to the threadbit_announcement template; otherwise, follow the instructions found within the README file.

Need help. Cannot find alt1. I have a custom threadbit_announcement template.
What should my edits be?
<tr>
<td class="announcement"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/announcement_$announcement[statusicon].gif" border="0" alt="$vbphrase[announcement]" /></td>
<td class="announcement" colspan="$announcecolspan">
<div>
<span class="smallfont" style="float:$stylevar[right]">$vbphrase[views]: <strong>$announcement[views]</strong> <a href="announcement.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$foruminfo[forumid]$announcementidlink"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/lastpost.gif" alt="$vbphrase[view_announcement]" border="0" /></a></span>
<strong>$vbphrase[announcement]</strong>: <a href="announcement.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$foruminfo[forumid]$announcementidlink">$announcement[title]</a>
</div>
<div>
<span style="float:$stylevar[right]"><if condition="$show['forumtitle']"><a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$announcement[forumid]">$announcement[forumtitle]</a> </if><span class="smallfont">$announcement[postdate]</span></span>
<span class="smallfont">

I copied the the whole contents of threadbit_announcement.txt to the threadbit_announcement template.
It seems working fine, though.

Tested with 3 different user id's.....
I tried to update current (default) threadbit_announcement template with edits... no flashing
I completely replaced the threadbit_announcement template with contents of provide threadbit_announcement.txt .... no flashing
Doesn't work for our site using v.3.6.7pl1...
Reverted template back to standard vBulletin default that was there....
Thanks anyway ... :)

Badger
