Template Hooks

Well I have heard about template hooks for a bit now but still have to see any threads explaining them or how to use them. I am interested as I plan to use the template hooks for a few of my mods that I am updating to be 3.6.7 compliant. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

It's just an array. You simply append data to them.
eval("$template_hook[hook_name] .= 'DATA';");

Template hooks are just variables, such as $header and $navbar. Not actual "plugin hooks".
