View Full Version : Site Suggestions
I am not looking for a review, but I am looking for site content suggestions. I have decided to give back to the community and have a vB discussion board, but I don't want to duplicate any other the other fine vB sites, including this one.
Would anyone be kind enough to give me some positive feedback and suggest some content tips.
Thanks very much

dont use the default style. Do something like vb.org or even install vbulletin 2.0 or whatever it was called.

do not use vBulletin in your site name.. .this is against the copyright...
also, "giving back to the community" is not a reason to start a forum.. the best way would be to collaborate on this community instead of spreading the efforts to make it better...
when you have time to loose, instead of starting a place where people will not be supported properly or having a site just to have a site, please do it for products that do not have already a great support...
if you do not want to duplicate anyother vBulletin content, why do you start that forum then ?!
that makes no sense...
even me with the experience i have and the presence i have on the vbulletin community i would never open a site like that to "give back to the community"... it is more logic to participate here... anyway, this is the only official support forum.

Okay, your forum has got some okay things changed, but it needs a lot of work both style and management wise.
Style:
Please, change the default, and make some images either with the right background colour or transparent, as your logo and status icons look terrible on the coloured background.
Remove the default column text. Keep the custom stuff, remove this:
Right Column Block Three
This can be edited through your Ultimate Side Columns Options
Right Column Block Four
This can be edited through your Ultimate Side Columns Options
Right Column Block Five
This can be edited through your Ultimate Side Columns OptionsSmilies are only the default, look too plain.
Please change buttons, they don't correspond with the custom backgrounds.
Management:
You have 6 forums totally empty. Fill them up with something, as empty forums put visitors off registration, seriously.
Is about 80% of your content RSS feeds turned topics? Because I think you need to also post some interesting stuff by yourself, or get some intelligent vBulletin experts to post content for you.
Probably too many forums for this size board.
Far too many advertisements and links. You need to limit them, as your site does not have the activity to warrant that many adverts around the style.
You obviously need more active members. Only 1 ONE other member than you has posted anything, and that is just one post. Get your community posting, it won't happen automatically!
Curiosity:
Advertisements for GoDaddy domains and hosting? That's like the worst possible host for a vBulletin forum! Nothing major, just slightly interesting.

This post has some valid points....
My thoughts are the content matter is already at vb.org vb.com so this site will have huge problems getting going.
