[How to] replace images with different button pack?

You know, like quote, reply, "who's online," inactive/active forum (oh! By the way, how do you edit each forum's button?), and online/offline button?

I want to use the old VB2 buttons for some of them, and thinking of adding unique images to the mix.

It'd be in the images directory. The sub-directories are easily identified. The images folder will depend on the style you're using.

So, if I have more than one skin, I would have to go into their separate /images folders and upload the images from the image packs I find?
