Didn't even think of this when I first made this, but FF users had to what while there was an invisible loading feature, in other words, slow waiting times. I popped a conditional in there so that FF users don't have to wait, only IE users will experience this. The code only performs if their browser is identified as IE.

This will simply make your pages fade. I figured this out when messing around with the "Make your forum's speed seem faster" hack. I messed with the settings, and my pages magically faded in and out! The demo is at www.vbulletintests.xenweb.net/forums

PLEASE CLICK INSTALL IF YOU USE THIS. Support will only be given to users in this thread who clicked install.

EDIT: This has only been confirmed working on IE7. As far as I know, it DOES NOT WORK ON FIREFOX. That is the only confimed "bug"/incompatibilty issue so far.

Mod History:
1.0- Initial Release
2.0- Fixed bug that slowed loading times for FF users.

Sorry, Let me make it for my forums. It will fade on the forums.

Edit: try it now, see if it works. You have to click a link on the page. It wont fade on just the enterance.

Page transitions are a Microsoft technology and not part of any standard.

That sucks cause I like this mod. But I dont allow IE users on my forum.......lol

It also seems as if your pages load very slow could it be due to this mod?

Basically... Microsoft created tons of effects like that which are integrated into Windows, not into the Web... these are functional calls, and are not effective on the web content but on the browser functions ... so no, this kind of gadget will never occur on Standard Browsers...

people say "that's bad, i hope it works with FF etc"... remember that FF etc have features that Microsoft refuse to integrate to their browser because they want to make it different... their way...

these are gadgets, not features... you can accomplish that kind of fading with javascript, or on flash based pages... these are web content... and browser compatible...

notice: i'm not commenting about your hack Oreo.. this is a good one...
i'm commenting MS stubborn attitude to make to their wish instead of creating a better web - they have the power to do it!

I do agree with you, although MS is doing a great job, they could be a little more open-minded.

Pretty sure you cant. Firefox disables this stuff for security and speed i think...

Eh, I can try, but so far, no luck. Just a fair warning to everyone, if you have this hack installed, and the pages dont fade, it will just make for slower waiting times. You will just wait while the invisible "fade" is happening.

Firefox also sucks. Opera is faster and more secure. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/FirefoxMyths.html

Because you know you will loose? :) Anyways, i use firefox, even though its crap. The only reason i use it because my cookies are on it... I like cookies and i cannot be stuffed migrating browsers :D

Mm, well this hack is nice, but there is a hack that ziki made i think that has the option of several effects.....

I had it on my forum and had the duration set to .5 and it was pretty fast. You can adjust the fade time (duration) accordingly.

Updated so that FF users don't even have the code run. This means their pages will run without the invisible loading they experiance, in other words, faster loading times.

Theres a mod that fades FF when logging out hows that done?

Theres this option in FF not sure if it would apply

browser.preferences.animateFadeIn

By default its set to False Someone who has FF installed and this hack can you check this out see if it matters?

open a tab type in the box about:config press enter then type in browser.preferences.animateFadeIn double click it so it says true then close FF try page see if it fades like IE does.
