On one of my large forums, I have been experiencing a very odd issue. If you post a new thread, it takes .00001 seconds. The server is a beast, and everything works perfect.

If I, or my users make a post, and then hit "EDIT", and edit the post, when we go to save it, it can take upwards of 2 minutes, or it will time out to post the changes. But if I hit "GO ADVANCED" while I'm editing and hit submit, it takes it instantly.

What could be causing this glitch?

Thanks in advance.

Have you talked it through with vBulletin Support? I'm guessing it also might be a modification causing delays.

No, I haven't. This is happening on a "big board" and it is extremely frustrating. I haven't ever tried using the support feature. Do I do that through vbulletin.com?

I tried disabling plugins, one by one. No difference.

I also tried using text edit, full edit, and WSY edit. I have periodic delays, but if the message includes a percentage sign (%) it will ALWAYS lock up.

Yes, open a support ticket through the Members' Area at vBulletin.com.

It's a server issue, something with the mod_security (http://www.modsecurity.org),
talk with your hoster. :D
