This lets you

- Export / Import custom and vBulletin edited templates
- Copy multiple templates to multiple styles
- Delete multiple templates from multiple styles
- Save multiple templates in template history

Installation

- Upload custom_template_manager.php to your admincp folder
- Upload cpnav_ctm.xml to your includes/xml folder
- Reload your Admin Control Panel, its above "Styles & Templates"

Tip: Deleting a template is the same as reverting it. So if you delete your footer template is the same as reverting the footer template.

Thanks Stoebi for updating this to 3.6

Looks nice, will check it out.
This looks like it may make it easier when upgrading.
I use BeyondCompare to update all the templates and it is always a pain creating the compare files with copy/paste.

This is just a repost of Stoebi's version, he may have changed something in the layout.

You could use this mod to copy all your modified templates to the new style.

THOUGH, I would recommend you to use the modified style as a parent style for sub styles that would use the same modifications. It's a lot easier to maintain.

You create a style and modify it's templates, then you create a CHILD style that will inherit any modification you have on the PARENT's templates, and you can modify it further from there (colors on the CSS, etc).

Thanks guys for your support, I'm glad this mod is useful to some :)

Don't forget to thank Stoebi, he was the one that ported this hack over to 3.6.x.

Guys you don't import a product with this mod, read the install instructions again.

I think it might be more clear if you included the directory names in the zip file under /upload/.

Thanks a lot for this great add-on to admincp

I think it might be more clear if you included the directory names in the zip file under /upload/.

You just need to copy the two files in their appropriate locations

cpnav_ctm.xml >> includes/xml/
custom_template_manager.php >> admincp/

I'm aware of that. I was suggesting that the author follow convention and pack the files in the appropriate folders under an upload folder. That way there would be no confusion about importing the XML file (see posts a few above this one).

THANK YOU!!!!!

I really didn't want to have to recode templates for each and every style I uploaded... a great timesaver!!!!

I also agree to make the instructions simpler. I saw the XML file and immediately thought it was a product to import and did try to import it. Got error. Checked install directions again. And followed exactly.

What is the difference(s) between your hack and this one, if any? And can you use both add-ons without a conflict?

I was wondering the same thing, not many installs. Maybe because it's not supported, I know myself try to steer clear of un supported mods. Soon as you get use to them vB gets updated and then the mod never gets updated.. What's really the point of even making a mod if your not going to support it? I have never really understood the concept behind that one.

I just think that Dream does not want to feel obligated to do so, but provides support whenever possible - just no obligation to do so.

I agree. If anyone is going to make a mod, they should support it. But, like yoyoyoyo said, Dream does provide support sometimes, but I am talking about other authors who do not provide support at all. To me that is a waste of bandwidth.

A mod being supported doesn't mean it'll be updated when a new version of vb comes along.

I choose to not support my modifications because I already offer them for free, support should be done by members who have interest in them to give something back to the community. That hardly happens though. Still I always respond to reasonable messages on my free time.

Giving support is time consuming and frustrating. Don't take my word for it, create a popular mod and give support for it and let's see how much fun you have while doing it.

I understand your point, I myself would not have the time to support any such mod. I was not trying to single you out so please don't take my above post as so. I was only giving my personal preference on how I feel that's all.

I'm not sure why the author didn't/won't do this but see attached file. No changes except the files will extract to the correct subfolders and installation instructions are included.

I just installed this and I get an "internal server error" in the admin cp if i click any of the functions underneath "template manager."

any suggestions? My admincp folder is renamed on my server, however I browsed through the code and found nothing that would cause a confliction.

edit: VB version 3.8.1

Read the instructions once again and it will work for sure

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but . . .

This mod works OK for me on v4.0.3

I installed it when it was released and it's been working ever since :)

This should be a standard feature in vB. It has saved me many, many hours of copy and pasting. If you have many styles using the same templates then this mod if for you!

I really like this mod. It doesn't seem to work properly with 4.0.5 though.

When I want to copy a template. I select the source template and the destination styles. Press copy and get no template selected.

Hmm I get these errors on 3.8.4:

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in [path]/admincp/custom_template_manager.php on line 970

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/admincp/custom_template_manager.php on line 999

And it also tells me I have no templates selected when I try to delete custom templates.

And when I try to upload a template set I've exported it says:

Invalid File Specified
