Okay, I know there are a million wrestling forums on the web and they all seem like carbon copy, cookie-cutter forums. I was asked to admin http://www.pwdiscussion.com which serves as the main discussion forum for a fairly sizable wrestling news site (PWHeadlines.com).
I've been contemplating ways to give the forum some uniqueness over the other wrestling forums. That's why I took the Triple Triad (a card game from Final Fantasy) hack and modified it to work with professional wrestling (PWD Battleground, although this feature was just implemented today. Ignore the potential trademark issues - this has been taken care of). I think using Forum Points to purchase packs, in combination with vBookie also gives an added incentive to post in the wrestling forums as they are worth more points.
We are also working on a custom game related to trading fantasy stocks that should be a hit as well - I'll repost this in six months when the game should be completed.
It will be interesting to see the progress the site makes compared to other wrestling forums. It's a crowded niche but we're lucky to have a PWHeadlines.com MySpace account with over 17,000 friends at our disposal (one bulletin produced 1,000 guests online within a few hours) and the headlines site to back it up.
