Heres a hack i made for someone.
He had the problem that his mods doesn't have seen that a thread is closed and have written the comments.
then the "normal" registered user have gripe(i hope this is the right word) "why the mods and admins can carry on spamming in the thread...
so the idee was=> if the thread is closed=> hide the qick reply box
so it easier to see that the thread is closed
Update:
Added a Productfile
for german support you can ask here http://www.my-vb.de/board/hacks-addons-fuer-vbulletin-3-6-x/167-quick-reply-verbergen-falls-thema-geschlossen-wurde.html
Update:
1.1 => Code modified
Now the Quick Reply will not been loaded, in 1.0 the Box was loaded and then hidden
now it wount be loaded=> better performance

To clarify, I would just create a new plugin called whatever I like, add in the code in the original post, and attach it to showthread_complete ... correct?

So what does it does?
It hides the Quickreply only at closed Threads (what i prefer) or generally for Mods and Admins?

normal users don't see quick reply in closed threads
but admins and mods see it
so they often don't look exactly and write a answer
so this hack hides the quick reply for mods and admins

Hmm, not to bad of an idea. It probably just depends on the forum your using.

Yes he did - it hides it in closed threads only (according to the first post, and his reply).
