Adding Columns Outside Of Board

Looking to add a column to the right and left of the board for banner ads, but not included inside the actual perimeter of the board. Is there a way to inset the board in the middle of three columns.

Tried the ultimate column mod hack, works, but the banners are placed in columns inside the perimeter of the board ... not looking for that.
