Integration with vBulletin - Intergrated Image Uploader [Archive]

This hack adds the ability to upload image files to IMGBolt.com (http://www.imgbolt.com), from your website and be given the URL/BBCode to post in your posts. It is available when creating a new thread, new post or editing a post.

Why you should install this:
You do not have to do any template changes, as the mod uses your template system.
Unlike other image upload scripts, this one does not require any iframe so you're able to complete customize it to your taste.
You can upload more then 1 image at a time, as well as remove potential uploads.
Ability to create thumbnails, with three choices: No Thumbnail, Small (100 x125) and Large (120x180).
File types include: .jpeg .jpg .png .gif .bmp .tif .tiff and have a maximum of 5MB per an upload.
And best of all, IMGBolt.com allows pornography. ;)Instructions:

Import product-zp_imgbolt.xml into vB using the AdminCP Product Manager.

21st May 2007 EDIT: Please can you re-download the product and re-install! As the editor mode issue has been fixed, the problem which caused this was a bit of loose javascript running my end. I've also fixed some styling errors in I.E.

Not quite what I was expecting from the title, but frankly this is better! I've always avoided similar mods due to what you mentioned, the dreaded iframe... But this looks like a nice wholesome package. Thanks very much!

Suggestions:

1: Make the upload button more conspicuous we all know the stupid people are going to get lost.
2: Allow logging in from forum to Imgbolt to store media in user selected folder if they have account.

The editor mode problem has been fixed, see main post for more info. I suggest everyone who currently has this product installed, re-install it! This will fix the editor mode problem.

very cool idea - was wondering if you could add flickr , imageshack for users to select?

that way you can take advantage of hosting your images in many popular photos sites to save bandwidth as well as giving your users multiple choice of images hosting sites.

On a lighter note: I've updated the file again, this time i've fixed styling errors in I.E :)

I'm hoping that's all the kinks worked out now.

i have the problem with thumbnails...not resize the image small and large version..only extended..

Ryozzo, do you mean you're unable to resize your images? If so then I'm afraid to tell you the script does not let you resize your images, yet. The "Small (100x125)" and "Large (120x180)" are size's for thumbnails.

Strange, since I installed it I cannot submit a thread where I have choosen to post a vBookie event! I press the submit button but the post doesn't get submitted. Any idea why this is happening?

did you forget about the button?I'll most likely set it so when you press enter it'll input the upload. Working on that now :)

What is your username? It appears you're the only person with this trouble, may i suggest looking in your spam box? (You never know, your email could of been filtered our for some reason or another).

Saying that, I just checked all inactive accounts and I'm pleased to say there are none, it should be working fine for you, so can you please double check? :)

If it cant be done, maybe you can just make it so that when you get the new page and it lists all the different formats you can choose for your image, insteading of when you click it Highlights All the Text, make it so that when you click it Highlights All the Text + Copies it to Clipboard (That should be a pretty easy change, there are many scripts out there already for it) ... I believe this might make the site a bit more "User-friendly" as its less that the user has to worry about in regards to Right Clicking the text > Copy or Ctrl + C ... Just a thought, BTW, nice job with IMGBOLT, I like ...

:up: Glad you like the idea ... My users on my forums where kinda saying "the image uploader is a b***h to use, could it be made easier?" ... I told them that its not the same as an Attachment (I have attachments disabled), it wont automatically add it to your Post, so I thought it would at least be easier for them if the code is automatically loaded into their Clipboard when they click on the code on the imgbolt page.

Now, if you were to somehow be able to make it so that the code itself is added to the Post, that would be freaking awesome, but that seems like a long shot since its two different sites and the URL that the image gets changes randomly. If it was a static one, then maybe it would be easier. I dunno, maybe you can work your magic and implement that into the next release. Just a thought ... Anyways, let me know once the Automatic Clipboard thingy is added to imgbolt, so I can let my Members know ...

Looking into the other thing, I think it may be possible if i placed a tiny iframe into the orginal code and have it use a "target=". Hmm... just looking around for ideas for now.

Just letting know to all who use this MOD, that IMGBolt has been down the past day or two due to a server switch. I recently sold the website and they've been switching it to there server. But don't worry, nothing has been lost and it's all operational again.

I had some images uploaded using this and now they dont show up on the Thread ... When I visit the Images URL it displays the URL written out in text on a white page. Are images deleted from the server after certain amount of time has passed? If so, that really sucks.

Also, anyone figure out how to add the Image Uploader to the QuickReply Box on the showthread templete?
