How Do I Change Edit Window Size?

hey folks, I moved my smilies down to underneath this editing window.

Now the edit window does not take up all the screen real estate left to right... Specifically, how do I increase the horizontal size of the edit window when quick replying, replying or creating a thread?

Examine the attached image and see that the edit window could be much larger left to right.

Here is another screenshot... Not only do I want the WINDOW to be bigger, but the place where you can edit the text (notice they are not the same)

Thanks, there are a lot of options on that page and I am not sure I found the right one.

And lastly, how do I move the edit window left about 10 pixels to maximize usefulness?
