Why, here at vB.org, don't you add a "Unanswered Topic" link, for let people give more help to users that have posted an issue?
Example: SitePoint Forums (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/) - Unanswered Topics (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/search.php?do=noreplies).

i suppose it is because there is not that much unanswered topics... you can always go and use the "New Posts", so you see what was posted lately...

we do have one .. but it's only visible for staff
not sure why it's a "staff only" option .. will check into this

Using the New Post function you don't see only unanswered topics.
we do have one .. but it's only visible for staff

I think this could be a great system for help other users.

There used to be a visible link under Quick Links before the upgrade.
