How would I go about removing the cell borders from this area?

i also interested in this...

specifically, how to fill it out (ie make the whole bar the color of the border, which i am sure is changed in the same way)

I got it. :)

Look for:

Right under

<!-- breadcrumb, login, pm info -->

You'll see a line with cellspacing="stylevar[cellspacing]". Just change that to ="0". (My template's all hacked up so my code will be a little different than yours, otherwise I'd post the actual line, but you can't miss it.)

This has been driving me nuts for like a freakin' year, lol. :D

It's in the navbar template itself.

What do you mean by filling it out? :)
