Very basic adcode question

I am not a programmer, so every step of this vbulletin stuff is very difficult for me.

That said, please bear with me for a very dumb question:

I installed a plug in that requires the insertion of an ad code. I have no idea what this is. I assume it isn't the url of the ad on my server. So what do I need to do, or how can I find out what to do?
