Jump to Last Post Hack

This was a very quick/small hack in UBB, and IMO probably one of the most useful, but I don't see it here yet :(.

What it involved was putting an anchor in the footer of the thread, then adding that to the end of the thread url eg <A HREF="$ThisURL#bottom> . Then by clicking the link 'Last Post' in the forum diaplay, it would bring the user down to the bottom of the thread, thus avoiding having to scroll down every time :) (OK, so here you have the option to set up vB with newest posts to oldest, but IMHO this would look a little strange!). Am I making sense here?!

Has anyone knocked up this hack yet in vB?? Any takers?

The blue arrow icon on the message list is supposed to go to the last post but for some reason it doesn't :(

The reason it doesn't, and I could be wrong, is that the anchor is near the date and time of the post - so therefore it is at the bottom, so it doesn't shoot you to the top of the first unread post or last post. I moved the anchor to the top on my board and it works fine.

I didn't realise that the Blue Arrow http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/lastpost.gif was a link at all, it simply looks like its there for cosmetic purposes ;)

Must get it changed to make it more obvious...
