The site will be offline for a period of time this Sunday afternoon to do some code and database changes. This is expected to start around 3pm (uk time). The work should not take more than an hour.

Most of the changes are backend code and database updates (partly to just update very old code, and partly to make some features due later in the year possible) - there will be very little visible change on Sunday.

One effect that may become apparent is install count adjustments - the current system just adds one (or takes one) from an existing stored number (similar to how post counts work). Over time this means errors have crept in and some counts are no longer exactly correct. Every install is also kept as a record in a database and after the update, when you mark a mod as installed (or uninstalled) it will actually work out the correct count from the database - this will mean counts (esp for older mods) may change slightly as they get corrected.

So how is this going to work with future versions of vbulletin, is it going to put in latter versions? (replacing old code I mean)

@Paul M - How are you using 3.6.6? You are beta testing it?

I'm pretty sure some people are getting confused here - changes to vbulletin.org are not related to vb 3.6.6 (or any other version) - we are not vb developers.

These were mostly changes to modernise the custom (backend) vb.org code - much of which dates back many years. These changes are happening on a regular basis, mostly invisibly, but in the case of the ones last weekend, they involved database changes to the tables related to download and install tracking, so it was necessary for the forums to be closed.

We don't add any code to any versions of vBulletin.

Paul meant the code used here, on this site.

Much like most of you, we have some modified files on this site. ;)
