I see in Forum Manager, I can set "Forum is Open" to NO.
This prevents any new posts being made in that forum.
But users can still go into it.
How do I close it, so that they can't click to see it's contents, and so that it gets this icon in Forum Home: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Lock a forum:
AdminCP > Forums & Moderators > Forum Manager > Create a new forum or edit an old one > Forum is Open > No
To display the lock icon:
AdminCP > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > Forum Listings Display Options > Show Lock Icons to Users > Yes
If you want more then the locked forum I would suggest Forum Permissions :)

AdminCP > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > Forum Listings Display Options > Show Lock Icons to Users > Yes
Thanks, that's the bit I needed.

Yeah it's a weird preference, easy to forget about. The icon legend at the bottom of ForumHome shows it regardless, too, which is why I started wondering about it.

Okay. I started my forum last August and I *never* could figure out how to get the "locked forum" icon to show up. -_- Thanks SO much for asking, Tralala - and thanks for explaining it Shazz!
I don't much like how it makes the locked forum icon show up on *all* forums to guests (guests can't post), though of course it makes perfect sense and all. It's just that like I said the forum's been up since August and I know that it will cause people to email me whining "Why did you close the forum???" I did make an announcement about it on the forum but I just know not everyone will look at it. ;)
