View Full Version : Poor codes...server down?
Hi,
We frequently get server busy [HTTP 408/409 Server Busy] messages. When I complained this time they told me it may be the add ons. This is part of the reply.
However I would recommend reviewing your site to ensure all database access is optimized, which is generally only a problem with outdated scripts or poorly coded modifications/addons.
Is this possible?
How do I know when it's the servers fault and when it's the forum's fault?
your host sux.. and they are making excusses.
P.S.. I HATE POPUP SITES!!!!.

Disable your plugins and see if it improves.

impossible that it is related to vBulletin itself (a slight chance it is a plugin)... or your host have a 3 or 4 years old server... maybe it is time to move to something efficient...
and it is not because i am a fan... i am not... i just know that these excuses of poor code are always related to outdated configurations.. they may even offer you to upgrade to a higher service you would pay for....

I had the same problem when I first started my board up at the end of February and I had hardly any mods installed. I have lots of mods now, and no trouble with my server. I agree with Coux...they're making excuses.

That's what I was thinking and just wanted other vB member opinions. I also hate pop ups and I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of them.

I agree. Plus I'm careful with the plugins I add. We may be leaving Site5 to smallorange.

We had mods installed for most of our vB experience and no problems at all. At the end of January they had server problems and the forum was down for 2 or 3 days and lost all our data. (Used our backup) Ever since then we've had these server errors.
Thanks everyone for the input. Much appreciated. :)
