This hack is now discontinued - this means that while it will remain available for download and use, there will be no further updates, nor will support be provided as the thread is no longer monitored. But not to worry, you can now check out the new 3.8.x version of this hack which will work with v3.7.x, as well as with v3.6.12 (and maybe even earlier versions).

Please click Mark as Installed if you are using this hack.

NOTE 1: You can not change the language/text in the Imageshack box as it is actually being hosted on their website, and this hack can in NO way control that, so please do not ask.

NOTE 2: I only provide an easy way of integrating Imageshack into your sites, and I am only providing support for the vBulletin integration.

If you need support, information (how it works, FAQ etc) in regards the embedded upload box, then you are best of checking out their website, as I will not help you out there (you need to do the research yourself) - Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/)


vBulletin Version Compatibility

This hack can be used with both vBulletin v3.6.x and v3.7.x.


What Does This Hack Do?

This is an hack that adds the ability to upload image files to the Imageshack service and be given a url to post in your posts to show your now uploaded image, it is available (if enabled) when creating a new thread, new post, editing a post or doing a quick reply.

This hack has been added to the official ImageShack's 3rd Party Tools page - see ImageShack :: 3rdparty :: (http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=3rdparty)

You do not have to do any template changes like all other versions of this available here, and there is no release for this for v3.6.x.

AdminCP settings for this hack available in vBulletin Options > Imageshack Image Upload.
Settings that can be changed are:

Usergroup permissions - which groups will see the Imageshack Image Upload box
Choose which locations the Imageshack Image Upload are displayed
iFrame Upload Field Size - size of the upload input field
iFrame Width - width of the iframe
iFrame Height - height of the iframe
iFrame Text Color - color of the iframe (this setting will work instantly once Imageshack fix this, see post #33)
Auto-Template Search Text - leave alone unless you know what you are doing


Installation Instructions

Import product-jd_20070405.xml into vB using the AdminCP Product Manager. If upgrading then set Allow Overwrite to Yes.
In the Admin CP, select vBulletin Options > Imageshack Image Upload, and change the settings to enter usergroups that you want to use this (no usergroups can view the imageshack dialog box by default), which locations you want to display the imageshack dialog box and change other settings to your liking.
Enjoy the new addition to your posting arsenal !!!

Note: If you have highly customised templates or styles and the imageshack dialog box does not display after usergroup permissions are set, then you may need to manually add the contents of the imageshack template to the templates where you want the dialog box to appear. Check out post #70 for simple instructions.

That is a file uploading service like rapidshare and megaupload, this hack is only for free image hosting service provider Imageshack.

I will look into it at some point, but a brief look at it showed me there is no API to enable us to easily write an upload plugin like for this mod, so no promises at all for doing this.

I will be adding width and height options in the next version, so for people who it does not fit because of font or style reasons will be able to adjust those settings to their own liking.

I assume you are using Firefox? If so, I take it you are using the NoScript plugin? You just have to allow imageshack.us iframe and that should fix it. If not something is blocking the iframe on your PC. This is a PC related issue and nothing to do with the mod.

It does not use any queries at all (I have tested this by disabling the product), the wait time is waiting for the iframe to download from imageshack.us (it is not local your forum) and there is nothing I can do about that at all.

You cannot translate the following phrases, you must ask ImageShack to do so. That script comes from ImageShack (Clicky (http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=syndicate)), this script was not made by the thread author. However, the .xml was made by the author.

No, we can not, the only people who can fix it is imageshack.us as the iframe.php file resides on their server.

Once they fix iframe.php to actually process the txtcolor option and output the iframe in the appropriate colour then I will release my updated hack (it ready to be released, but no point until iframe.php is fixed), but the txtcolor option does not process at the moment as I have already stated - it will always show the colour as being 111111h (hexadecimal) which is very close to being pure black (000000h).

In the raw code version of this add on, I was able to change the color of the "patience during upload" text. But it's the ad text that doesn't change color. It looks like, and I'm just guessing here, they could fix that by adding the <span> tags they have around the "patience" phrase and wrap them around the ad text too. But maybe their afraid folks will color the ad the same as their website background to hide the ad. Though it's still practically hidden for those of us with dark backgrounds. I guess they figure it's the lesser of two evils, but still.

It brings up the Image Shack page. When you upload an image to Image Shack, your given multiple code options. This hack allows your users to decide which one they want to put in.

What is the url to this photobucket hack? Is there a problem when the photobucket hack is disabled? If not, then it is not a bug, it is a conflict with another hack.

The imageshack iframe load time I can not do anything about at all, I did not write it.

If you do, you probably need to make the tempate inserts manually, as my hack is looking for $attachmentoption or </fieldset>, depending on the location the ImageShack box should show up.

That is as far as I can help you, as if it is a custom style you need to work out for yourself where the the code needs to go, as this works fine with the default style and that is what this hack has been tested on.

Perhaps your user group ID's are not set properly?

After I import this, everything is successful, but when I start a new thread or reply I can't see the ImageShack upload portion at all - it's as if it did not even install, or it's invisible...any ideas?

I've just installed this mod but the ImageShack window hasn't been showed as was supposed to. In fact nothing happend. I've checked everything on ACP and looks OK.


I found it and giving some feedback for others that may have the same issue.

Despite of everything enabled for this hack at ACP the default IDs was set to 0 that I was wondering it was supposed to work for all my user groups. But it was exactly the opposite, you must to put all your usergroups IDs into that if you want to work.
Maybe I too dumb...

The defaut iFrame Height is set to 75 but for original templates 80 it's gonna work better without cropping.

2 months on, and no reply from Imageshack, and no fix.

So it looks like this will never be fixed, sorry folk :(

So, if everyone how uses this hack emails Imageshack tech support and bugs the hell out of them, they might actually fix it.

Hi, if anybody gets an error about api-s recently, the problem is not with this mod but with Imageshack. There is new code that you can get from here (http://imageshack.us/content.php?page=syndicate). Put it directly is styles and uninstall this mod.
