Special Charechter Bug is Back??

Yesterday I moved my forums from public_html being the vbroot to /forums being the vbroot. The arcade was working fine. Now I seem to have a db error and it seems to be because of the special characters bug as far as I can see.

which version of ibProArcade are you using ?

Did this player won any tournament before ?

Yes he has. He won it along time ago on 03-11-2007. The bug did not arise until moving my forums. However my index.php script is now the vb default index.php. I moves my vbadvanced portal to the index.php file of public_html, but why would that possibly be a problem? :S

Oh and the username in question had a ' in it, so i removed this and now the arcade is accessible.

so before you had the index.php from the portal and manually added the code for the arcade to it, and it was working ?

Maybe check your PlugIn "ibProArcade: Integration in index.php" if this has actual content.

If not, I really have to investigate as I can't find any place in the code where the problem is not solved :eek:

Ok never mind the vbadvanced issues for the time being but i can confirm that the special characters bug is still appearing in 2.6.1. A forum I work on had 2.5.9 installed and was receiving the special recharter error. I upgraded them to 2.6.1 and this did not fix the problem. The MySQL error remains the same.

EDIT: Hmm i wonder if vbadvanced is conflicting. On both set ups the portal is in the public_html and and the forums are in public_html/forums. My arcade was working fine until after the vbadvanced install. I did not notice the bug straight after vbadvanced install but vBadvanced and vBookie are the only hacks both sites have in common.

I seem to have found a fix on one forum but not the other. I installed vBPlaza and the IPBArcade add on for vbPlaza and it fixed it on one site. However on the other site the IPB Add on for the Plaza is already installed.
