I have one board that I kindof let go, and I have been back lightly working on it.

But the problem is it became filled with spammers! They completely spammed a ton of threads (with tons of spammy links). I have cleaned up all the threads, took me half a friggin day.

Anyway, the problem is, they are still registering everyday, I would say average of 5 per day.

This is what I have did so far.

To register, you need a unique email (pretty standard), I made it mod aproval on new registration, and have deleted accounts when I catch them (so far they are pretty easy to spot with names like freeonlinemusic and viagrapharmacyman). Now the reason I just delete there username and not ban them is because, 1 they just create a new name with a new email. 2 they have different IP's addy's

I have banned alot of Ip addy's, but it seems like they have an endless amount.

What would you do?

What can I do to stop this? I thought by now it would slow down, but no such luck.

Any suggestions would be GREAT!

Thanks
Iceman

<a href="https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=131568" target="_blank">https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=131568</a> brought spam to a halt on my board. I didn't worry with banning IPs as it's a waste of time. Just install a prevent spam type mod and ban known spam e-mail addresses.

For example: @mail.ru @web.de @gawab.com @cashette.com @ajiex.info @inbox.ru greatmedsdiscount.info itua.info

I just wrote a small mod to change the name of the image verification field to throw off the automated register scripts, and reduced my spam to <5% of it's previous quantity. It's really not that hard to stop, so don't worry about which spam mod is more effective, just pick one that you like and install it.
