View Full Version : A better ignore?

I haven't found any hacks for this.. but if anyone knows?

There are some users just people want to completely ignore. VB's ignore system is rather 'soft' in that you still see people posting. My users would prefer to NEVER see the post (or that they even attempted to post) and would like to ignore threads started by the ignored user too.

Anyone else see a need around this?

There are simple hacks to use that will hide threads posted by ignored users. These are for 3.0:

Hide Threads Posted By Ignored Users (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=64231)
Hide Threads Posted By Ignored Users (in search results) (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=98231)

I think you can modify the template "postbit_ignore" to completely not show the post of the Ignored User.

ahh.. thank you for that! lead me to this one

Which describes some template mods to do exactly what I was after! I was too busy searching the add-ons forum to look in the template changes! duh!

Thx again

speaking of which - is there a way to COMPLETELY hide ignored users? Meaning who's online, what's going on, PMs etc? Basically I want it to seem that the ignored user is not even online and cannot contact the ignorer.

Willing to pay for this
