or vbulletin integrated into a web2.0 site?

Web 2.0 is just a name given to features that popular on the web right now that weren't around when the web started. Things like social networking sites, advanced blogging, AJAX, etc.

In that respect I'd say that vB is web .20 compliant =P

i'm talking about really good design and functionality.

stuff like www.flickr.com and www.virb.com and www.etsy.com

I wouldn't recommend phpFox to anyone. Upgrading from 1.1 destroyed our site and the only thing truly working right is the VB portion atm. After 4 failed upgrades done by me I paid them for the upgrade to be done professionally and it is still broken 2 weeks later. Check out Zoints or some of the other programs listed here, I wouldn't buy phpFox though.

I recommend phpfox at this point. Upgrading was a challenge through some of the versions, but it has gotten much easier with the latest version.
