Hi everyone!
I'm looking for just a general review of my site, anything you think should be changed/removed/added. We have just totally redid the entire site design and layout and would like some opinions on the style please. Also please, just the site in general, the forums, and the extras, like arcade, zoints, etc.
The url is http://www.puretalkforum.com
The description:
Talk about anything community, arcade, social networking, blogging, cool site of the day, how-to article of the day & more, all for free.
Thanks! :) Any constructive criticism or any other comments are appreciated!

Unfortunately I do not like the logo very much. The tiny flashing red text just does not fit the site, and the text bubble with the "PTF" in it just does not look right. I would suggest dropping the red text in favor of a static and search engine friendly blurb about the site, expand the PTF a bit and round out the bubble to give it a more comic book text look to it.
The white area to the right in the logo space is very crisp looking, though the Register button seems out of place with the red background.
The forum icons are very generic and do not tie into the site at all. It also looks like the link icons are default. More customised icons based off of the logo would look much better. The buttons do not look like they belong with the style at all and should be updated.
You have a ton of forums and this is spreading your content all over the place. It does look like you have some good traffic but you really want to focus your content into less forums until the community expands and needs more forums.
You are entering into a very competitive and saturated market of general chat forums. You have a good start, keep up the good work :)

Hey guys, and thanks for the suggestions! :) I really appreciate it. I just finished designing a new bubble that I think will better fit the site. I want to keep the bubble shape, though (I like it. :D). I did edit the register button and I think it looks better now. By forum icons, you mean the blue circles next to each forum? Yeah, I don't like those much, either. Should I edit them to be more like the bubble logo?? Or do you have something else in mind? Are there some pre-made ones that would match better? Because I don't think I would be very good at designing forum icons... I know the buttons don't really match but I know I wouldn't be able to make any better looking ones. Do you know of any icons that match better?
I know I have a problem with all of my forums, but I had even more before and comdined a few, and I just don't really see how I could combine any more. I guess I could get rid of a few... I'm gonna really look hard through them and try to remove a few or combine them with others.
Thank you very much for your help! :) It is much appreciated. I hope to hear from you again or from someone else. :D
Thanks!
AJ

Also, try going for a fixed width. :p

Why? I hate fixed widths. Nothing worse than a site that only takes up half your screen, IMO.

I think the logo is fine. Everything is alright except for the gradients on the forum list. You should change it. It gets very annoying. Very nice overall. :)

Thanks. :)
What do you suggest? All white or all light-blue?
