My forum is dedicated to Final Fantasy fans and one of the games has a very fun minigame called Blitzball that we enjoy. To make the game work we need dice. I could have installed the Dice Roller Hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=959071#post959071) but I opted to just create a new bbcode instead.

Installation:

1) Download my plugin, import into vB

2) Create 1 BBCode
Tag: dices
Replacement: nada
Example: 6
Description: rolls x dices each with y faces y
Use option: yes

3) unzip the diceblue.zip images, upload all images in there to your forum images folder

4) Enjoy!

Using it
Write y whenever you need x dices of y faces rolled
See it working here

The BB code was inspired by the Dice Roller Hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=959071#post959071) and the dice images came from there too :D

You are quite welcome!

This should be very stable and fast since it only uses default BB code handling.

What's the highest single roll possible? I plan to run contests so 100 would be good. If there are no pics to correspond with such a high number, is there a way to omit the images and just have the rolls displayed as text?

No limit for highest single roll, 100 will work easily.

Right now there is no option to bypass the pictures but I had another older version with no pics. I can post it here later.

This is great, except if someone edits their post, or a post is not cached or is uncachable for some reason, the dice result does not remain the same. I foresee probable cheating and complaining members...

This could be avoided by:
Not allowing posts containing the [dice] bb-code to be edited. The post content could then be modified to contain the dice results instead of the bb-code, preventing re-rolls when post caching is disabled, or when the cache is rebuilt.

Well, yeah, mine is a pretty simple implementation of the dice hack. The complete dice hack with security and such is at
