Thread as a link

I'm wondering if it is at all possible to make a thread into a link to a website. I know there is a way to do it with a forum, but can you do the same with a thread?

I'd like to be able to create a thread with the name of a site so that when people click on it, it takes them to that site instead of in the thread to read the posts.

I hope this makes sense.
