What do you think about adding this function in Mods section just for Coders so we can ban members from our hacks if needed for any reason?

In last few weeks I've seen some problematic users around and have also reported their posts. Also I've seen that one of our great Coders (Psionic Vision I think...) said that he will maybe ask Staff to remove all his hacks from vB.org because of problems with some members.

I think such function will make problematic users more courteous and thankful.

Loosing Psionic Vision as a coder would be a great loss.

Coders (although some understandably do it to promote there site or business) come here and contribute there free time amongst the forums making modifications for users, they do not deserve this kind of response from users.

I think this would be a good idea or something simular.

I'm all for it as well. Especially since I use a few of Psionic Visions's mods. That would definately suck if we lost him

This is what we have the ignore button for.

Random idiots is one thing, they can be ignored. Saying you'll remove your work because of them is another and it does nothing but get people all riled up.

Aren't we all admins here? Surely you're all familiar with the ignore button and report buttons? It's the internet after all! You don't even have to worry with clicking buttons, you see you no longer exist if I avoid your threads and scroll past your posts...I love avatars..:)

Ignore button? When was that here? :p

Anyway, it's an alright idea, I wouldn't say it is the best way out but still okay.

Such a feature will never be added.

If you want to ignore a member then use the ignore system.

Aha! I thought you were talking about something different.

banning a member from a thread would be like breaking all the rules why we have a community here... sharing and communication.

if someone bring problems to a coder, the report thing is working well... i can tell by experience that some spammers and troublemakers were kicked out solid when reported...

if someone is just annoying you, please consider discussion as the first step.. not menaces...

I think this would create fights not help solve them.

I dread the day when current coders beocme staff here in the future and decide to hand over such powers to non staff, it has to be said some coders carry as much attitude as some non coders, and some on both sides of that fence will never lose the attitude, but becasue some of those can code they should be permitted to simply ban a member of the comunity they dont particularly get on with ?

When the day arrives that such features become available is the day to simply close your community.

Please refer to post#7, there is nothing else needs to be said on this matter.

Then surely closing this thread would be the logical answer :)
