Info:
This enhances your Private Messages system:
-PM Menu in NavBar PM stats
-Advanced unread PM(s) notification
-"Reply To All" option in messages which was sent to multiple recipients
-Option to completely disable Signatures in PMs
-Options to change NewPM form checkboxes defaults

All features can be enabled/disabled in hack settings.

See screenshots.


Installation:
1. Import XML file as product: AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]


To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - PM System Enhancements

When viewing a PM I get:

and prolly due to this error at the top of the page, it pushes the tables off the right of the screen.......

once the pm has been read, and deleted, the error goes on page refresh, and the tables are back to normal..
i expect its something that Cybernetec can sort out with no probs, his hacks are the best on here for reliability normally.

Nice Idea - but i miss something.

Why did nobody complete the full Thing integrated PM Attachments and MassPM for Special Usergroups ?

I dont want to install 3 Hacks to get the full PM Power. So i still have to stay at the most important Functions "Attachments" and "MassPM". :(

Another Suggestion is to send MassPM from normal PM Editor.

Is the 'reply to all' option suppose to be available on a received email or on the sent emails? I sent an email to two 'testuser' on my board and when I open the email as either testuser, I don't see the 'reply to all' next to the testusers. When I open the sent email that I, as the ADMIN, sent, the 'reply to all' option is there. It would seem that it should be the other way around.

One other thing i noticed when adding it when using vbadvanced, on the main page of vbadvanced above the pm inbox disapears ;) It doesnt matter to me still have the module of vbadvanced for it, and in forum. But that's what i noticed from the addon

So now on the main page of vbadvanced install it shows:

This update caused database errors when entering private.php... apparently it had syntax errors in there -- when I uninstalled it, they went away.

Have to remain uninstalled until next update.

great mod, but minor issues. i also see the error message described on the first page of this thread. additionally, although i see the new pm menu in the navbar, the "reply to all" link doesn't show on messages sent to more than one person. all features are turned on in the cp. i've uninstalled it for now, but i'm sure i'll be back.

Also in pm_text table in the in the touserarray field look at this serialization:

a:1:{s:2:"cc";a:1:{i:605;s:6:"PappyJ";}} This will not give errors
a:1:{s:2:"bcc";a:1:{i:605;s:6:"PappyJ";}} This will give the errors.

The only place I see this type of second case is when the the PM DM is given only the first two parameters

For the code guys now i have a question....
In the forum i have the ability to make my users choose how they wanna choose their postbit... so far i never had any problem with this but since i installed this addon a problem appears.

If i have from the vboptions in admincp the overal postbit to shown as legacy and any of my users dont change it in their usercp then the PM's are fine with no problem, but if a user put the non legacy version then when they click to read a pm the forum doesnt show it but shows them the box box to delete the post only..

Its total strange and i dont know what to do... for now i have disabled the ability for my users to choose their postbit preference and i have all the forum to legacy.

As i understood this addon likes what exists in AdminCP as matter the legacy on or off...

And here is some info cause maybe i do something wrong and its a better way to achieve user preference in postbit....atm i use this trick that i fount in vbulletin.com forum.

I created a userfield called postbit_userchoose in there you have 2 options yes or no... with yes you get the legacy postbit view and with no you use the default of the forum which in my case is the original horizontal postbit view..

I created after a plugin with this code

where XX is the number that my userfield has...

Anyone now knows why Cyb's Pm enhancement brakes with this plugin? my friend Cybernetec can you emulate it? cause the enhancement is great but not all my users like the legace view... and im in a dead end here.

Cybernetec, install this mode.
Post any message/topic as normal user and then edit that mesage with admin account.

Normal user will get an information PM.
When you will open it, you will see those errors.

Then you should ask that hack's Author to check if his hack properly writes data to database.

Until that you can disable "Reply To All" function to avoid errors produced by wrong info in database.

There is the difference between messages sent to me by that mod in behalf of user and sent from that user himself.

By Mod:

This is precisely the error I get... I did get a Vbulletin expert to tell me it was caused by:
This is caused by a modification that executes a plugin at the 'private_complete' hook location. Remove or disable the plugin and contact the author for an update.

Here is a copy of the error screen:

I checked the plugin and it is this one that connects to the private_complete location.

Can someone please comment on this?

This error only is caused when a PM is machine generated (like mass PM users or double registration from a single IP)

Hey Cyb, a member pointed out that on my CMPS page, the private messages point to /private.php where it suppose to point to /forum/private.php

I disabled your mod and then rechecked and got fixed. But then enabled it again and still points to /private.php.

Works fine on my Forum index though.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've fixed the problem. Actually I'm using custom skin what had login option only on forum home. So I need to change the header to add the login option. Now it appears on every page. Anyway I have edited Cyb - PM System Enhancements - MN plugin.

I just replace the navbar template with header template. Then again as I'm using <td align="$stylevar[right]"></td> for my login box so I got drop down menu text on right side :S. So I need to edit the template also. Just added.

Does this work with CMPS yet? Members can't access there private messages through CMPS. They keep getting the 404 error. Is there a solution to this?

Try adding full URL to your CSS. Though I don't use CMPS now but once I got problem with this. Then I did change all the CSS URL from 'forum/blabla/blabla' to 'http://mydomain/forum/blabla/blabla' in ACP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Select a skin & go to All Style Option. Thats all :). I hope this 'll fix your problem too.

To get it work with CMPS, there is no need to edit CSS. There is an easier way, just simply edit the product xml file, findprivate.php
before that add following thing/forum/
or something more, for line 186, beforeclear.gifyou should also add /forum/

When I registered as a new user on my board doing some testing and went to read the initial Welcome PM vBulletin sends out I get this error with this MOD installed:

I had originally installed your MOD sometime back, but in the process of vB upgrades had removed it. When I reinstalled it yesterday, I used my last D/L'd copy not noticing you had released v1.3. :o

Does this work with CMPS yet? Members can't access there private messages through CMPS. They keep getting the 404 error. Is there a solution to this?

The only solution I've found is search for this phrase private_messages_nav and edit this
<a href="private.php{3}">Private Messages</a>: {1}, {2}
to reflect your absolute path, should be like this...
<a href="http://www.yoursite/yourdirectory/private.php{3}">Private Messages</a>: {1}, {2}

Then edit the template Cybernetec Templates > cyb_pme_pmmunu and change the five instances of
href="private.php"
to the same absolute path.

I found out the hack works fine with deactivatet 'Enable "Reply To All" in messages sent to multiple recipients' and 'Completely disable Signatures in PMs'. Otherwise the PM or the PM editor will disappear. When installing the hack on a Board without GTUserCP it works 100%.

I have found that with my hacks that using the "full path" by including the Forum URL breaks the links on some vBulletin users' web sites. Now why they set their Forum URL to a location other than their forum base directory is beyond me, but they do it, and then they get angry with coders like us. Not using the Forum URL alienates vBA users, but I guess we can't make everyone happy.

Just thought I would mention this since the latest update is switching to paths using the Forum URL, which you may yet get some resistance for.

If your forum has multiple domain names (i.e: yoursite.com, yoursite.net, www.yoursite.com, www.yoursite.net) the drop-down menu for the 'inbox' always goes to what is set in the AdminCP. Some people don't believe in the www. part, and that was causing some confusion.

I think this can be fixed by changing it to go to $forumhome/private.php

I disabled the "reply all" function from this hack, and installed this one (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=133753) instead. It seems to be working fine (and works when a PM has 2 recipients.) The only issue is the "Reply All" button always appears on the bottom right of the PM. I'd like for it to only appear when there are multiple recipients. But hey, at least it works.

I recently upgraded from VB 3.67 to 3.68. I had this nifty little Mod installed and working fine prior to the upgrade. But now it says I have 290 unread Private Messages, when I know they've all been read. I tried selecting all messages and marking them as "read", but it's still saying 290 unread. I tried uninstalling this Mod, but that doesn't change the unread PM count either.

Has anybody seen this before?

Great hack! Everything works well except for one little issue. The "Private Messages:" link in my navbar is pointing to different urls at times. I've already set my forum url in vbulletin options as "http://www.mysite.net/forums"

The link, "http://www.mysite.net/forums/private.php" is the out put for forums as well as the portal page(vbportal 3.5.6). However, my gallery(PhotoPost vBGallery v2.3) is giving me some trouble: The link is "http://www.mysite.net/gallery/private.php" which is quite clearly going to render a 404. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.

I'm noticing on my forum that "Reply to all" works fine with 3 or more recipients, but the link doesn't appear with only 2. > vs >= logic issue maybe?

To fix the reply to all issue I forced it to be on at all times. This will only display when there is multiple recepients. This isnt quite the proper way but it was a simple quick fix.

We are having some issues with it not showing Reply To All on all PMs... here is the message from one user:

I don't know whats wrong with this new software, but all I see is that this was sent to ME ALONE, noone else is listed as a recipient.
This has been happening for the last couple of days, so I just tried Internet Explorer to see if it was my Firefox install, well it isn't, because it's still happening.

I noticed lately that there are ERROR messages up top these days when getting PMS, I have copied and pasted them below:

Is there any chance you can make it so that it adds a "Reply to All" button/link next to the reply button rather than next to the recipient names. It feels very unnatural up top. Found the answer within these posts.

Simply go to your admin and go to vBa CMPS > Default Settings > Main Options ....then, place "cybpmmenu" without the quotes into the Portal Output Global Variables box.

I'm having an odd problem. When I have this enabled my infraction system doesn't work. If I turn it off it works fine. It also only seems to happen in the default skin, it works fine in the custom skin. Any help or ideas?

I have not the standart style off VB.
