Hi,

since the last Update to Arcade 2.6.1 the /tmp Folder has Folders and Files in it with cryptic Filenames.

For example :

This causes Browsercrashes at FF and IE with every Browser FTP-Client and causes Error at other Hacks and at my Servercontrollpanel.

Sounds like a server issue and not nessaryily a hack issue.

No Arcade is creating those Filenames - the Server can handle them to work at the Games. If you are right it was a Problem of IE and of FF and the Serverconfigurationtool because they are the ones who have Problems.

Anyway - seems like this Filenames are very special. Any way to get this to normal Charset ?

I have forgotten :

1. There are Folder, Files and Files without Extensions.

2. All of them have 0-Bytes.

Then they are just temp php session files, nothing that odd.

Yes of course they are. But i dont know where they coming from. For know it is not a Problem because i deleted all these Files. And since Hours and a lot of Games played by my Members there are no new Files and Folders.

Like I said, these are temporary php files / system files, you've got nothing to worry about.

The /arcade/tmp directory is where the Arcade installer temporarily extracts the contents of uploaded .tar or .zip games into the individual files. Then are copied to their appropriate destinations. If something interrupts the normal extraction of these files, or the .php that accompanys each game is coded badly, the install will fail, and the temporarily extracted files get left behind as residue :P

So, (I say in a much less condescending tone than Zachery) anything that remains in the /arcade/tmp directory is probably just garbage left over from a failed install, and not a bug in the Arcade coding itself.

If it constantly happens after every install, you might want to double check the permissions of that tmp directory, just to make sure that the arcade installer has the rights to remove any tmp files after a succesfull install.
