Maybe I'm missing something here.. but what's with all the modifications when a user who did not create the mod posts a reply with 'Reserved!" in it.

What's the point of this? To just be annoying, or is there something I don't understand?

the point is that this forum will send them a email each time the thread is answered, so therefore they don't forget about the hack..

It's because there's a character limit on how much text can fit in the first post, they reserve one or more immediately after in case they need more space for text.

Also its there so people can have update logs or if they need it there etc

I can certainly understand why the mod's author might want to reserve the first post for later, but not why as KTBleeding asked above, some other member would do this.

That's sorta pointless as well. You can subscribe to a thread, or click installed on the hack, but just replying to it doesn't do anything special. When I don't want to lose a hack I bookmark the thread page or just click installed (even if I actually haven't yet) to keep up with new changes.

I also wonder the same thing. There are couple guys who try to post reserved for each modification and personally it pisses me off. I see it as a disrespectfull act against the author of the mod.

Generally speaking there is no point to it, but it's hardly the end of the world. I'm sure people have more important things to worry about. :)

Right. I think that a mod layout like this:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=132632

Is awesome. I even stated so in that thread..

But when it's someone other than the mod creator, I just didn't see any point to it.. rather than to take the post before the mod creator could? As stated above, that's pretty disrespectful.

But also as stated above, it's not the end of the world.

I just made this post cause I was unsure if it was some new forum lingo that I missed out on. ;)

I disagree. I think it's useful since the modification details are on every single page of the mode. If that were kept short and basic, it's less annoying to scroll through. Some mods have way too much space taken up in the first post that could easily be spread out on the first few posts on just the first page.

This is of course my personal opinion.

I agree - I find this very annoying. I think it's useful for mod authors as it can make information that many users skip more apparent to them; however, when users "reserve" the first post... it just makes no sense. I wonder sometimes if they just don't realize what they're doing.

In fact, someone did it here in one of my mods: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=140348

Not only is it disrespectful...it is childish as well.

Deleted that post. In future please just use the Report Post link and it will be taken care of.

I always Reserve the first post so I can later use it for important info that would disappear in the thread

Its a silly concept, not really sure who started the trend. Important information can be linked too.
