View Full Version : Hack version update
It's frustrating when you have 30+ hacks released and when a new vb version is released to update to latest version. Can we have a button which we click and it updates to latest version?Thank you

You have
Total Releases: 65 ?
That would be insane...
Not many people have that many =\

You should not update the vB version of your modifications just because a new vB version is released.
You should only update it if you release a new version of your modification and/or you have tested your modification to work with the new version.

It stops thousands of posts like "Will this work with latest version?" etc. Please I really need this and other coders would appreciate it too.

Sorry, there will be no such button in the forseeable future.

Put a message in your signature that says something like: "All my hacks work for the latest release of 3.6.x unless stated elsewhere."

Every modification I release, I normally include a line at the very top indicating it's compatibility. IE:
Compatibility: 3.6.x
This signifies that particular modification is compatible for the whole 3.6 branch.
But you are still getting questions if it works with latest right :)

If people will not read the first lines of the modification post, they will not read the section dedicated to the version of the modification. Ignorance is bliss. :)
Hehe good point I guess I'll go without it

I usually have people asking if it works with older versions, so I set it to the minimum version needed.
