So I got vBulletin a few weeks back, since then I've spent quite a bit of time installing hacks to make the place a nice place to be around. As we're aiming to be a film makers community, I'm looking for suggestions on how to take in that direction, like what sort of features/hacks are available that can be used for film makers?

Any suggestions and reviews of the place so far would be greatly appreciated. =)

The first thing you have to do is get a new style.
The new style should scream "film makers" or along those line. In other words, the impression that I get from the style should tell me something about the site (subject matter). The current blue style does not help.

Looking at your forums ... it's a bit hard to come to the conclusion that you are about "film makers". I suggest creating forums specifically for this group only. eg. why have a gaming forum?

Thanks for your feedback, I'm in the process of learning to design my own style. And even film makers play games ;)

While it is a nice looking style there is really noting to tell me the topic of this forum at all. By looking at the forums I would come to the conclusion that this is just a general chat forum.

You need a logo that identifies your site. You also need to reduce the number of forums you have, focusing just on the topic you want. Once you get more content then you can expand as the community need you to.

I am not a fan of the shoutbox, and I suggest dropping it, or at least moving it to the bottom of the forum. Add information to the welcome message to tell what your site is about.

You may want to remove the Top 5 Stats box, at least until you get more traffic.

I've taken your comments to hand and redesigned the whole forums. Any further suggestions, or know of any mods that would suit a film community?

Thanks for your input.

Again, your forum should reflect your topic. Right now I don't think the RED look matches your topic at all.
