First
Log in to AdminCP
User Profile Fields > Add New User Profile Field
Nothing real specific after this part. Just remember that your members need to know that whatever is put in the box will scroll under their avatar, or whatever you deside to put the code in the next step under.
Next
Log into AdminCP
Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Templates > posbit_legacy
FIND:
<if condition="$show['avatar']">
<div class="smallfont">
&nbsp;<br /><a href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"><img src="$post[avatarurl]" $post[avwidth] $post[avheight] alt="<phrase 1="$post[username]">$vbphrase[xs_avatar]</phrase>" border="0" /></a>
</div>
</if>Under ADD:
<if condition="$post['field5']"><MARQUEE bgcolor="#CCCCCC" loop="-1" scrollamount="2" width="100%"><div class="smallfont">$post[field5]</div></MARQUEE></if>Change red to profile field number.
Change light green to background color.
Change light blue to how many times it loops. (-1) is unlimited.
Change dark green to change the speed.

If you make a second profile field you could also make the text colour user selected.....

I'm not going to use it personally....but its good work :)

you could just go to admin cp > User options and change their sub title and use the Marquee tag's.

They edit the profile field.

I like this better than the marquee edit in the admincp, because it seems it will allow the member to edit their text, but retain the scrolling.

*installed*

thanks! I was looking for that =)

Does it really matter if it can be done in default?
Kudos for the post, people complaining about honest efforts should really not make these posts complaining...
It's one thing to point it out, it's another to slag you off for trying.
Well done Twilkey... like me there are many people who don't know everything and I'm sure this will be helpful. I will try the default method, which I'd have never learnt about had it not been for your efforts, so again thx m8!
