I'm trying to come up with something newer for my site.

So I've been working on a new style with tweaks and stuff. So I'll say that this is a work in progress and missing a lot of unfinished elements, this style is really testing a lot of new ideas.

I liked where I was going, but then I started hitting a road block and I think somewhere I blurred something to much or watered it down.

For the most part I have been working on the css for the front page, haven't dug deeper yet.

Input?

Two ideas I am happy with are my top logon and user bar, i use it on my current theme and my members find it invaluable.

Here are some examples of logged in header and PM notification:

I'm also experimenting with using CSS to indicate when a message is new, I have used css and background image for when there is a new thread rather than the normal status icons.

But, still something just doesn't feel right. Any pointers?

I like it. It's nice to see something unique and fast loading. I bet it will be awesome once you get the rest of the site done. It could be you get the feeling of lacking something because the rest of the site doesn't really fit with the new forum home look.

I'm using 1024x768 as well but not getting a scrolling bar.

Site looks good though

You've got a great start so far. I really like the CSS background idea to show new/old posts (I may have to steal something similar!). Nothing really jumps out that needs work right away. Keep going in the same direction and you'll have a good looking site! :)

Thanks guys, I've been testing in multi-resolutions, I have high res on my computers, but I got a lot of navy fellows who use my site daily and log on from work on 17 inch monitors normally running 1024x768

Figuring out the IF statement for that took me a few minutes. Haven't worked on it since this posting, just been busy, but I got some rest and some new ideas to keep moving forward.
