User banning and/or deletion

When a user is banned from the forums, will they still receive update emails? I have this problem with phpBB that when I ban a user, they still get the email updates from the threads they were subscribed to and of course that really ticks them off. ;)

Also, what happens to a user's posts when you delete them? Is the post retained, or does the post text get removed? What about the username, does it turn into "Guest" or something?
