Automatic Quoting when replying to PM's

I noticed that when making a reply to a private message it automatically adds in a quote with all the text of the original message included. This is not wanted because the quotes keep building up and the messages get longer and longer and longer and it makes it confusing and cluttered to read.

Is there anything in the admin cp to disable this? If not is there a simple fix for this?

There is, a mod, right here, at vb.org, that will, eliminate the problemo. :)

I just got done checking the link out, and actually I have see that hack before, its a good idea but its not really what i am looking for as I am not wanting to "ADD" another feature to this, I am just wanting to disable automatic quoting all together.

Is there anyone else here that is willing to help me out with this? Any ideas, suggestions, comments?

If you read the modification, there are 2 options available. One option is to add another link, so you have 2 buttons, one reply w/quote, the other reply/no quote.

The second option is to only have one reply button and it does not quote the reply message. So, you're not adding anything.

Other than that, there are no other options to remove quoting from PM's, AFAIK.

It's the only thing I could find that works and has the options mentioned, because I hate the quote thing in PM's too. Easy mod to add.

That's done easily by editing the postbit and postbit_legacy templates.
