Does anyone know where to download a news portal that pulls the posts from a certain area of the forum and posts it onto a page you make?

Do you mean, page you make as in non-vB page, or are you thinking about something alike vBadvanced Portal (http://www.vbadvanced.com/)?

That's what I'm looking for. Or something alike that, at least. =/ I would very much like to have a portal-ish thing like that too.

O_o; Would you be so kind and link me to the one you used? If it's still around on the 'net? Perhaps it can be edited so it'll work again. ;D

Instead of hitting the post reply button several times, why not hit the search button instead? :)

Have you looked at vBonjour?
vBonjour is just another Portal CMS.
What we are looking for, or at least I, would be something rather simple that which extracts posts from a certain forum(or several), and posts them on your non-vB website. This includes title, full post, timestamp, author and a Post Comment link along with a number of how many comments has been posted. That is all.
Instead of hitting the post reply button several times, why not hit the search button instead? :)
Hitting the reply button for information exchange. Why don't you do something useful and contribute to the thread instead of TRYING to mock other users. =)
I believe, the more information exchanged, the easier it'll be to find this hack/modification/code. Oh, and don't you think we've already seached for this with the current information? Or do you think we're just too darn stupid to do so?
Here's a tip. Before you go on posting such a thing, try reading the posts as well. Let me quote spandexman. "been looking all over the place for one" That was back up in the very third post of this thread.

Merely telling you to think and read before you hit reply. You may say that you already read all the replies in this thread, but knowing that you didn't as it had already been stated that the product had already been searched for. Then you come around telling us to search for it.
Please read the whole thread and think before you answer instead of reading the title and throw in an answer which does not contribute.
Anyhow, this is completely off topic, and knowing that this will make the moderators somewhat mad, we should stop discussing this.
If you feel like further talking about this, then take it to PC.
Thank you and good day to you.

Yea thats what I am also looking for, the same thing, extract posts from a certain forum and post on a non-vb site.
It seems IPB and even phpBB has tons of these, why not vBulletin :(

Have you taken a look at vbulletin's external.php? The script will allow you to pull RSS from certain forums, and you just have to parse it into a custom template. (PHP knowledge is required)

You crack me up. It's funny, as I did a search for such a script and came up with several options. It's amazing what you can find if you really try.

But you see, I suck at php, if I knew how to modify then I would probably know enough php to just do the news thing myself..

I'll look into this as this might give what I'm looking for.

If you really did find exactly what we're looking for, why don't you prove it and post what you found, exactly what we're looking for instead if saying you did it? =) Or did you really find anything at all? You have still contributed to this thread with nothing but spam. How I can say this I spam? Well, four years with a forum moderation job would give me that feeling. Also, the fact that you have't provided anything useful to this thread as of yet.
I, too, could do a search for "news script" or something alike that, and come up with several results, but none of them would have what I am looking for.

Might as well modify any portal script with a news module, then. >_>
